Stampin' Up

Serene Silhouettes, Stampin’ Up

Hey there stampers! Well, as you can hear from my froggy voice, that beautiful weather last week took it’s toll on me. And now it’s rainy…boo!

But, fear not, we will bring in SPRING with our stamps 🙂

#1 card starts as they all do, we will use a Wisteria Wonder base card cut 8 1/2″ by
5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, then add a layer of Very Vanilla cut at 5 1/4″ by 4″ added with snail, you’ll also want to cut a second piece of Very Vanilla for the inside of your card. You’ll need a piece of Wisteria Wonder 3″ by 4″ and a piece of Watercolor paper cut at 2 3/4″ by 3 3/4″. Grab your aqua painter for the watercoloring portion. Squeeze your Wisteria Wonder ink pad together in the middle once you open it slightly to create a pool of ink on the lid, from which you will use to paint. I do like the slightly askewed way these papers are stacked , but you could certainly line them up as well. Also you will ink up your flower image with the Stampin’ Write markers and “huff” on them to reactivate the ink just before stamping.

#2 & #3 cards use the same concept, except you will be using Calypso Coral as your base card , and  Whisper White as your layer and inside panel. You will want to run one piece of Whisper White through the big shot with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder before attaching to the front panel. I also used Wild Wasabi as my “stem” color on this one. Instead of the brads in the top corner, you could use buttons, a ribbon bow, jewel rhinestones or any other little gems you might have lying around to embellish it. I have a LOT of brads, because they were my favorite little addition, but they really are limited in the style Stampin’ up carries, so I like to give other suggestions.

One other note…..

I do not have any sentiment on these cards. You could certainly add one! On the front or on the inside, if you want to keep it focused on the flower. I think it would look striking in Archival Black, punched out on the Washi Label punch(#138296), if you did a front addition, and of course popped up on a dimensional!
