May 2016, Stampin’ Up: Paper Pumpkin

Hi friends! Hope this beautiful day finds you well. I got the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin in the mail the other day, and I always find it a challenge of mine to think of a card outside of what is suggested. I must say, this one was much more difficult than I thought. Once this set is out for a month or so, there will be a plethora of ideas on Google, Pinterest, you name it, but coming up with original ideas out of the blue, on such a specific card style, was surely not as easy this go round. So what I did was a take on the new craze that is: having a diagonal cut of paper on a card front. It is really a cool look, but this card already has that, so I tried to mimic it on the inside. I also thought that the orange inner portion somehow reminded me of vertical blinds, and I think it’s a really cool part of the card. I still may go back and possibly go over the orange with a brown and make it a window blind……I’ll have to work on it and show you sometime later:)

Onto the ideas I came up with….One really cool thing with this set is the sentiments. I must say every time I get a new PP, I think wow these are great fonts, words, sayings, etc. But, once again wow, LOVE the font, the variance of people included in this set( son, dad, uncle, brother) is really, really inclusive! Plus, all the little doodads are super cute, the blue stars, and all the little extra stamps 🙂

I hope, if you haven’t given Paper Pumpkin a shot, that you will take a second look, or even order a 1 month trial…..I promise, you will not be disappointed.
