Country Livin’ , Stampin’ Up!

Hey there stampers…..sorry I have been away so long. I took my son the the beach for a few days on a whim, and my dad recently had an emergency surgery done, so the stamping had to take a back seat. That is really how I came up with this card, I nice relaxing view from the passenger seat or bed of this very cool old truck. I think the cards turned out so much better than I could’ve imagined since I stepped out of the color box for this one. I have seen so many GREAT cards with this set, but mostly in darker ink shades. So I thought I would go out on a limb and see what came of it.

Also I am nearing 1000 subscribers on my You Tube channel Rachthestamper, so I will be getting ready for a new giveaway too. There are so many fun things coming in the next weeks. There is a great new bundle coming out : Thoughtful Branches is the stamp set, and Beautiful Branches is a coordinating framelit set. They will be orderable on August 2nd, but only for a limited time. There are so many different cards you could create with these, and the words and font in the stamp sets are incredible and versatile.

Steaming Along: Traveler, Stampin Up!

Hi stampers! Welcome back to the golden age of steam travel! My son adores trains, so I knew I had to get this set, and he would just love to get a card . I went with a very basic “create your own DSP” and a tone on tone style for this card. You could also do it with brown inks as well for a vintage sepia style card. Also, I used the other images in the set to create the background. However, you could also feature one of those if trains are not your thing…..though I cannot imagine that 😉

I also made two different styles, on with an extra base layer in Smoky Slate and one without. And I sponged the edges which gives it a much more layered look with either card. Also if you have it handy you could use Black Embossing Powder and skip a step of using black ink.

Card measurements:

Base of Very Vanilla 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

Layer: Smoky Slate 4″ by 5 1/4″

Layer: Very Vanilla 3 3/4″ by 5″

I would love to hear your thoughts on this card. Don’t forget to check out the Stamp It Group:Christmas in July blog hop, Stampin’ Up! for a chance to win a really cool kit!!

Until next time….. Stay Crafty!

Stamp It Group:Christmas in July blog hop, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I know, I know…..a Christmas card already?!?! Well, in Maryland today, the heat index will be 109′, so quite honestly, a little HO HO HO might cool me down. Even if only in my mind. 😉 Be sure to follow all the way through the blog hop and you will get some really great Christmas card inspiration……even if you don’t use it for a bit. But, I’ll bet you feel cooler, and even a little merrier at the end of our hop.  Also I have a video below as well that fully explains the details of making a spinner card. They really give such a fun WOW factor, especially for the little ones. They are really quite simple to make, even more so after you do your first one and see what works for you. The even better thing about the Spinning Star Framelits set, is that there are so many more fun cards you are going to want to create, it’s a lil’ addictive….. ENJOY THE HOP!!

Card measurements:

Base: 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″

Layer: 4″ by 5 1/4″

Inside layer: 4″ by 5 1/4″, with DSP measuring 1/2″ by 4″, and 2 3/4″ by 4″

Andddd I know you are now secretly humming Christmas tunes….Don’t worry, I won’t tell 😉

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

Birthday Fiesta/April Paper Pumpkin leftovers, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers!! This was a SUPER FUN card to create!!! I have seen a few ideas of cactus made from the leftover grass/leaf pieces from the April Paper Pumpkin scraps. But it seems there were a large amount of people( myself included) that never even made the wreath, so I though this would be a great card to make you use or use up your leftover pieces. It’s a very fun card, and even if you don’t have the April Paper Pumpkin, or leftovers to use,a really fun card on it’s own! I hope if you do not already have this super fun Fiesta Birthday bundle, it will quickly make your MUST HAVE list!! It is my real favorite, even more than Seaside Shore( and you know how I love that set!). Plus if you get the stamps and the framelits as a bundle, you’ll save 10%.  A N D, right now if you spend $50 USD, you will get a $5 coupon code to use in August towards a super cute new bundle. It will only be available for a limited time.

So until next time…..Stay Crafty!

Card measurements are:

Base 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″, then a DSP layer of 4″ by 5 1/4″. I also used a Whisper White panel inside at 4″ by 5 1/4″, with two thins strips of DSP to add a punch to the inside.

I’m So Sorry/Thinking of You, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I created this very simple, but meaningful card from the very versitile Woodlands TEIF. It is such a nice embossing folder, and has so many variations that you can do with it. I have seen people brayer the inside, and even stamp images to transfer to the card stock. It’s pretty cool since it gives a hiding behind the trees effect. I would love to do that type of card, if you all would like to see one done. Please leave me a comment here and I will be sure to do a new video for it. These cards are very simple to make and you could make a bunch in different colors , with varied sentiments and give as a really sweet, little pick me up gift. Just add some Whisper White envelopes 😌

They’re standard card size 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4″, with a 5 1/4″ by 4″ embossed layer.
Until next time…Stay Crafty!

A simple Anniversary card, Stampin’ up!

Hi stampers! Here is a quickie for you today. This a great card to make to have on hand for those card emergencies that pop up. Like, oh boy!, so and so’s anniversary/birthday party is tomorrow, and I forgot to make a card. It’s also very easy to change the feel of the card by switching the DSP that you use, and/or the color combination. It is quick and easy, and with the new Banners for You stamps and framelits, it really gives you a TON of options for the sentiment and banner. The card size is standard 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4″, and the DSP measures 5 1/4″ by 4″. This tone on tone style version is easy, but you could make it fun by adding a lot of bright colors too.

Hope you like this quick and easy style…..

Until next time, Stay Crafty!
