Steaming Along: Traveler, Stampin Up!

Hi stampers! Welcome back to the golden age of steam travel! My son adores trains, so I knew I had to get this set, and he would just love to get a card . I went with a very basic “create your own DSP” and a tone on tone style for this card. You could also do it with brown inks as well for a vintage sepia style card. Also, I used the other images in the set to create the background. However, you could also feature one of those if trains are not your thing…..though I cannot imagine that 😉

I also made two different styles, on with an extra base layer in Smoky Slate and one without. And I sponged the edges which gives it a much more layered look with either card. Also if you have it handy you could use Black Embossing Powder and skip a step of using black ink.

Card measurements:

Base of Very Vanilla 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

Layer: Smoky Slate 4″ by 5 1/4″

Layer: Very Vanilla 3 3/4″ by 5″

I would love to hear your thoughts on this card. Don’t forget to check out the Stamp It Group:Christmas in July blog hop, Stampin’ Up! for a chance to win a really cool kit!!

Until next time….. Stay Crafty!
