Bye Bye Birthday Fiesta, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! Another of my favorite sets will be retiring very soon, so if you haven’t gotten your hands on it yet, time is tick, tick , ticking away!

This card I wanted to show you an out of the box color combo that maybe you hadn’t thought  of using. It is certainly more girly, but goes to show you can change almost any stamp set around to fit your needs!

I made this card as a gate fold, which means I took a 4 1/4″ by 11″ piece of card stock, and scored it at 2 3/4″ on end of the 11″ side. Doing it this way will ensure a better and more even gate fold. Side note, you might need to trim just a hare from each it to make sure it doesn’t overlap, but that is personal preference.

I then stamped all the images onto two 2 5/8″ by 4″ pieces of Whisper White to layer onto the front of the card. I added a sentiment to the inside and layered onto a piece of Perfect Plum. And finally stamped and cut out a cactus and the sentiment, layered them onto a piece of Perfect Plum, and trimmed to fit .

Until next time……Stay Crafty!!

XO Rach

Build It/Nailed It Father’s Day gift box, Stamping’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

If you didn’t see the video on how I finished up this cute little box, check it out the video on my Facebook page. I had been wanting to create this for a Father’s Day blog hop, but sadly it will be retired by then, so I wanted to make sure you saw how truly cool stamp set and framelit set are.

To make the box, I used a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the images randomly in Night of Navy ink. I used a piece of Smoky Slate card stock to make the base box where you’ll add your goodies!

Let me know what stamp sets you will be sad to see go, and I will try to get a card created for you before they’re all gone…..boo hoo!

No worries though, there will be a new catalog coming out very soon to make you forget all your worries :0

Using the Simply Scored scoring tool, score the Whisper White cardstock on the 8 ¼” side at ½” & 2 ¾’, turn 180* and repeat scoring at ½” & 2 ¾”. Turn to the 7 ¼” side and score at 2 ¼”, turn 180* and repeat score at 2 ¼”. Burnish score lines with the Bone Folder. On the 8 ¼” side cut up to mid box, then trim off the skinny strip on each side, leaving the middle skinny piece in place. Repeat on opposite side. Add adhesive to skinny strip (Fast Fuse or TomBow Liquid glue hold best). Fold sides in, fold skinny strip over and press to adhere. Repeat on opposite side.

Again with the scoring tool, score Smoky Slate card stock on the 8” side at ½” & 2 5/8”, turn 180* and repeat scoring at ½” & 2 5/8”. Turn to the 6 ¾” side and score at 2”, turn 180* and repeat score at 2”. Burnish score lines with the Bone Folder. On the 8” side cut up to mid box, then trim off the skinny strip on each side, leaving the middle skinny piece in place. Repeat on opposite side. Add adhesive to skinny strip (Fast Fuse or TowBow Liquid glue hold best). Fold sides in, fold skinny strip over and press to adhere. Repeat on opposite side.

You can then trim and add your tools of choice, and a greeting, and it will be all ready to fill up for Dad!

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

XO Rach

Mother’s Day Blog hop, Stampin’ Up! April

Hi stampers! Welcome to our Stamp It demonstrators group Mother’s Day blog hop!

I would love to say I was prepared, but this is another project, strike that TWO projects I created for this blog hop…….AT THE LAST MINUTE. Insert sad face here 😦 it seems I cannot get my behind in gear these last few weeks, however this is a testament that you can create absolutely anything , and a quite beautiful anything with minimal effort. That is what is so wonderful about all of the Stampin’ Up! products: they coordinate and compliment effortlessly, blend with each other beautifully, and keep your stress levels to a minimum :-D.

I did find the gift bag idea in the 2016-17 Annual catalog and  came up with the card inspiration from Pinterest. BUT the color combo was all on my own. It is such a pretty combo and even though we have the retirement list that came out, and the 2015-17 In Colors that are retiring, at least we still have POOL PARTY right!?!?!? If we could bring back Coastal Cabana, I may never leave my stamp room.

I did videos below for both projects, but I will still give out a quick instruction for each, and as always the measurements for the card!

Just a few notes, the 2016-17 Annual catalog retirement list is going and fast….so make sure you get what you want before the price goes up……..on eBay that is:/

The NEW 2017-18 Annual catalog will be coming to a mailbox near you very soon, and if you don’t have a demonstrator, feel free to drop me an email with your full name, and mailing address and I will send you one free of charge.

The Occasions catalog will be coming to a close as well on May 31, 2017, OR while supplies last. Please get what you have been waiting for now, once it is gone, all I can do is cry with you and pat your back 🙂

As always be sure to follow all the way through the hop and see all the beautiful cards, these ladies have created, and while you’re there, leave a comment, along with your name and #stampitcontest to bantered to win the super pretty Watercolor Wishes Kit!

Until next time…..Stay Crafty!!

Rach

Card Base: 4 1/4″ by 12″ card stock base ( I used Kraft card stock)

Layers: Whisper White

Butterfly: Pool Party

On the 12″ side, score at 2, 4 ,8 & 10″, then turn and line up the 4 1/4″ side edge  at the 1″ mark, and score from 2″ to 10″ ( in-between the score lines), flip and repeat on the other side.

You will then do a mountain/valley fold  for an”M” shape to the card when it stands up.

You will need five pieces to layer and I did them in  Whisper White

Two measuring  7/8″ by 3 7/8″

One measuring 1 7/8″ by 3 7/8″

Two measuring 1 7/8″ by 3 3/4″

Gift Bag: Glassine gift bag

Layer: Whisper White

Butterfly: Pool Party

And the winner is……..Congrats to Pauline Vaughn, she won last months blog hop prize!

Stampin’ Up! 2017 Retirement List, Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!!

I am freshly back from the Stampin’ Up! convention in Richmond VA. I had a blast along with my fellow Team Stamp It demos. I got to meet a bunch of them for the very first time! We were even able to do a little Facebook LIVE on Sunday to showcase some cards and I got to stamp with the One and Only TAMI WHITE!!!!

How lucky was I?!?!? Very very lucky, that is how I feel anyway. Her cousin Kim invited us back to do a little crafting on our way back up 95 N to go home. It was a super fun pit stop, and I look forward to doing it again 🙂

If you have been living under a rock, then you may not have heard that the New 2017-18 Annual catalog will be released soon, and along with that comes the news of the 2016-17 Annual catalog Retirement list:  insert sad wah wah noise here ( I know you just did it in your head ).

I will again give out my best advice as I did with Sale A Bration ( hopefully you’ll listen this time) GET IT NOW……eBay is such a bitter pill to swallow. There are things that WILL sell out on the list. They will SELL OUT TODAY. I really just want my point across and I don’t mean to shout. I just would hate to see you waste your money, when you can save it for new stuff in the new catalog when you get it!

See, I love you and only want to help your wallet/crafting addiction. Trust me I have a problem too, but I love my problem too much to give it up 😉

Here is a link to the 2016-17 Annual Catalog Retirement List.

http://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/lastChance/2017_NA_RetiredList/Retiring_List_US.pdf

One piece of advice, I am sure everyone is trying to get on line at the same time , so please be patient, and I am saying a little prayer it will load for you 🙂

Stay tuned for lots of Goodbye to certain stamp set posts in the next few weeks!

I am well aware I will be bidding a sad, sad farewell to a few of my very favorites.

Stay tuned to Facebook and YouTube LIVE as I will do my best to post a few more in the next weeks, to give you up to date info as I get it.

As always, thank you for reading, following, liking and encouraging me along this Stampin’ journey…….I mean this with all my heart, I would NOT do this , if it weren’t for all of Y O U!!

Love to you all

XO
Rach

Stamp It Group:Easter Blog Hop, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers 🙂

How are you all on this beautiful Blog Hop Saturday?

I am so happy I finally came up with a fun Easter blog hop idea. Well, ok: full disclosure, my stampin’ buddy Ronda did. She helped me a L O T, she is really good at helping me when my creative process is all buggered up! Also telling me when I have good ( and bad) ideas. She is able to think on the fly, and brainstorm in a fun and different way. That is why I would not trade her for a whole vat of Reese’s peanut butter cups…… and she knows just how much I love them too!

Now,  on to what you hopped here for,  the cards! I did these in two slightly different styles. One with the largest Oval from the layering Oval framelits, and another with the largest Scalloped Oval from the same set.

I used a quarter sheet of card stock for each card, which makes it super simple to create a ton of them, and you can swap out colors to make it more fun too!

Start with  a 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ piece of card stock, and on the 5 1/2″ side, score at 2 3/4″. Then with the oval or scalloped framelit you picked, lay it down onto the BigShot platform, and put one of the long oval edges just off the card side ( at the fold) so you will not cut it into two ovals, but instead create an oval card base.

Repeat for as many as you want to make.

I then stamped two different sentiments with some flowers and background images, and cut them both out with the 2nd largest Oval from the layering oval framelits.

The sentiments are from the Suite Sentiments & Suite Sayings stamp sets. And, if i haven’t told you , the “Suite” series ( there have been a few) are MY FAVORITES!!!!

I just adore how there are coordinating fonts, and styles, and the words are all so beautiful and really versatile. I do not know who came up with them, but when I find out, they’re getting a card pronto!

Ok Rach, reign it back in 🙂  I also decorated them both a tiny bit differently. I added the Pearl Basic Jewels to one, along with a faux bow made with the 5/8″ Organza Ribbon. Then the Sprinkles Embellishments ( the matching colors to what I stamped) for the other.

I trimmed off a tiny bit of the bottom on the upright oval card to get it to stand, but I don’t think you notice it a bit.

For the Mini Egg Cartons, I kinda went a little nuts! I filled the stampin’ spritzer mostly with 70% alcohol, and dropped in about five drops of Bermuda Bay reinker. Close it with the lid, and give it a shake, then spritz away. I also sponged a bit of Cucumber Crush, and went around the edges with a bit of Sweet Sugarplum. I then cut some strips of Perfect Plum, and squished them up a bit between my fingers to make it look Easter-grass-ish 🙂 and finally added in my treats.

Hope you will give these sweet “egg” cards a try. I would love to see some of your own versions!

Until next time…..Stay Crafty!

XO Rach

P.S. I will get a video done to demonstrate how to cut the card bases later today if possible.

Congrats to Diana! She’s last months winnerImage may contain: text

A Softer Balloon Adventure , Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampin’ friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Have you created anything today? Well, if the answer is no, then this is your next project! This is a tried and true “Z” fold style card, and it has a second layer to add some additional visual interest 🙂

This card is bright and full of fun in the 2017 Occasions catalog, and sometimes that can make it hard for people who may not bright and loud to see how they could use it. So ,I made this a very soft and feminine card, to give you a different perspective, and help you see some other options. But you can easily switch it out to your taste, and make it a bright card too!

Card base: Tip Tip Taupe measuring 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 2 3/4″and 5 1/2″.

DSP layers for the base measure 4″ by 5 1/4″, and two 2 1/2″ by 4″pieces. Then two Whisper White pieces at 21/4″ by 3 3/4″. I stamped the balloons in Tip Top Taupe, doing one in a lighter shade by stamping off first. I stamped the confetti in Blushing Bride ink, and the sentiment as well.I added a few Pearl embellishments to the front too.

Inside base measures  3″ by 8″, score at 4″. Two Whisper White pieces at 3 3/4″ by 2 3/4″, and a DSP layer at 3 1/2″ by 2 1/2″.

You could add a little extra pizzazz to the front inside layer by punching a few balloons form the Balloon Builder punch in Tip Top Taupe and Blushing Bride, and pop them up on dimensional. I do think it’s a perfectly beautiful card, just as it is, do you?

Thanks for stopping in.

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!!!!
