Stampin’ Friends Thankfulness blog hop

Rachael · October 17, 2019 · 5 Comments

Welcome to the Stampin Thankfulness Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is Thankful/Thankfulness.

If you’re following along the hop, you’ve arrived from Ellen’s blog.

Don’t forget to continue on the hop with Stephanie’s blog.

Be sure to continue all the way through.

You’ll have some lovely ideas for cards and projects for Thankfulness and beyond!

So let’s jump right in.

Project Recipe

I made a simple project this time around with the help of cello bags Stampin’ Up! carries. They have had many different sizes throughout the years, so you can use what you have on hand as I did, or grab some with your next order.

I put a 2″ by4″ piece of Pretty Peacock Cardstock in the bottom to hold it open, then filled it with treats.

To Close, I taped it shut but you could also glue or staple it.

I threaded the Crumb Cake Satin edged ribbon through the loop made by closing it, then added a 4″ by 4″ piece of Pretty Peacock Cardstock that I scored at 2″ to create a nice fold. I added a 1 3/4″ by 3 3/4″ piece of Come to Gather DSP to brighten it up.

I then die cut “Thanks” and “Friend” two times from Early Espresso CS and once from Mint Macaron and layered them all together with the Fine Tip Glue pen.

I stamped ” You Mean the World to Me” on Whisper White CS in Pretty Peacock ink and punched it out with the Classic Label punch. I trimmed off one end so it would be straight.

I added the die cut stacked words and the Sentiment strip with TomBow Liquid Glue to hold them tight. I tied the ribbon in a knot and angle cut the ends.

Card Recipe

Card Base: Mint Macaron 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″

Come to Gather DSP: This is a scrap I had left form another project. It was cut using the 2nd largest Stitched Rectangle die

Flowers: scraps of Mint Macaron, Pretty Peacock, Whisper White

Vellum: I cut out three swirls and layered onto the base card under the wood panel and the 2nd smallest Stitched Circle

Whisper White scraps for the sentiment with the smallest Stitched Circle

I attached the flowers and then tied the Crumb Cake Satin edged ribbon with Cajun Craze twine in the center. I trimmed the ribbon to fit the wood panel card and secured with Fast Fuse. I then added Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the panel and attached to the card base

I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White and cut with the smallest Stitched Circle added a dimensional and layered it onto the Vellum Stitched Circle I already cut.

I finished the inside by stamping “Sending Thanks” in Pretty Peacock and adding two die cut swirls from Soft Sea Foam CS.

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!

XO Rach
