Stampin’ Friends Valentine Blog Hop

Rachael · January 17, 2019 · 7 Comments

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is Valentine’s Day. If you’re following along the hop, you’ve arrived from Katja’s blog.

Don’t forget to continue on the hop with Jo’s blog.

I am honored to be here and want to thank Elizabeth again  for inviting me to join !

Make sure you continue all the way through so you will have plenty of great ideas for Valentine cards and projects!

So let’s jump right in.

I created a gift box and card to coordinate and also to use one sheet of the GORGEOUS All My Love DSP. But you can flip to the other side if you’d like or use another paper all together .

I did this card with what I am calling Paper Piecing.

CARD RECIPE

Crumb Cake base- 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″

Petal Pink layer-4″ by 5 1/4″

DSP scraps- 4″ by 3/4″ and 4″ by 1/2″

Scraps of  Crumb Cake, Sparkle Glimmer Paper and Grapefruit Grove foil*.        (* which is FREE now during Sale A Bration with a $50 purchase)

What you do is cut out the cupcakes with the Detailed Birthday Edgelits dies. I then hand trimmed them to be individual cupcakes.  I cut them with a whole row of Sparkle paper and a whole row of Grapefruit Foil. I then pieced in opposite colors to get the filled in look. I think it looks so amazing for my first time doing it! I did not add in the polka dots as that was a bit much, but all in all it took me about 15 mins max to do 6 cupcakes.

I  stamped the candy all over the Petal Pink layer, then  added a good amount of snail where I wanted a cupcake and laid the outline down. I then pieced in the opposite color until it was a solid image once again!

I was a lot of fun and I can see doing this with many other dies!

BOX RECIPE

Crumb Cake for base measuring 8 1/2″ by 10 1/2″

DSP layers

Four measuring  2 1/4″ by 3 3/4″

Two measuring 2 1/4″ by 2 1/4″

You will see I layered three of the longer ones outside and added one on the inside lid to make it more fun. You can omit that one if you choose.

For the box you will need a Simply Scored to make it easiest.

10 1/2″ side: SCORE at 2 1/4″ on each side, doing it on each side assures a very “square” box

8 1/2″ side: SCORE at 2 1/2″, 5″, 7 1/2″, 10″

I have shared photos to see where to trim and attach the DSP and also the Tear N Tape to hold it together nicely.

I also added some of the thinner Flirty Flamingo ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo pack.

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

XO Rach
