Facebook LIVE, Stampin' Up

Joy Fold Card, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers! This is a follow up with the measurements and colors used during todays Facebook LIVE!

Thanks again for sticking it out through all the interruptions and freezes. There was a shooting near where I live and I had some family calling to see if we were safe and home. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones, on a day like today I am reminded to please always BE KIND.

I have learned however how to broadcast from this moment forward and not be interrupted, so there is that šŸ™‚

Measurements:

You can use a sheet of 8 1/2″ by 11″ and make two card bases and then add in the other part, or make one from a full sheet.

Base 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″ 2 3/4″

Inside Base 3 3/4″ by 7 1/2″, score at 3 3/4″

Layers for the main base
1 piece 4″ by 5 1/4″, I used DSP

2 pieces 4″ by 2 1/2″, again I used DSP

Layers for Inside Base
2 pieces 3 1/2″ by 3 1/2″, I used Whisper White to be able to stamp my images and sentiments

I also used the 2″ Circle Punch and the Starburst Punch to make the piece that will hold them all closed , but you could swap that out depending on the needs of your card.

I used Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Pool Party as my main inks, and a bit of Archival Black ink, Blender Pens, and of course Wink of Stella!

I used the Hostess Set Season of Whimsy and Merry Mistletoe which are both in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.

Until next time,

2017-18 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog, Stained Glass technique, Stampin' Up, Vellum

Vellum Stained Glass Technique, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers!

This card was so fun and easy to create it’s called a Stainglass technique in this version uses vellum and permanent black ink.

You stamp your image onto vellum, allow some time to dry, flip it over and add color! It’s that simple. You can sponge some background color in and it will camouflage the glue dots you’ll add to hold it down very nicely. I gave a varied assortment of stamp sets that would Also work really nicely to color. You can see all the ideas and more in the video link below.

I can’t wait to try this with the new Stampin’ Blends once they arrive on my doorstep. I promise to do a live of Facebook and YouTube to show them off ;-)!!!

Until next time,

Bendi card with Magical Mermaid & Father Christmas, Stampin’ Up!

I added stoppers to keep it bent, this one is the holly sprig on the left
I added a Holly sprig on the inside as well to hlep keep the bend with a stopper
Close up of the stopper
My 1st Bendi card ever

A beautiful greeting thanks to the Ready for Christmas stamp set
stands up all on its own!
No stoppers on this version, I will update on how it holds up being mailed

Hi Stampers!

As a follow up to the Facebook LIVE I did earlier today, I added a few “stoppers” to hold the bend parts in place. I stamped a Holly Spring in Always Artichoke and colored it in with Garden Green and Old Olive, did the berries in Real Red, sponged it with Crumb Cake ink and fussy cut it out. I added two dimesionals to the back and attached one to the front panel and one to the inside card to hold the second panel. This was after a questions from a live viewer who asked if the ned would hold up after mailing. I mailed one of the cards out today, and I will let you know how it holds up without these added “stoppers”.

I also forgot to mention and I don’t know how I forgot, because I add Wink of Stella to EVERYTHING, that I added Wink to Santa, the tree and his bag. It makes it so much more magical of a card.

Again, you can add a regular A4 card panel and attach the car to that, but this card stands perfectly well without it, and that way you can make more cards with less sheets of card stock…..WIN WIN!!!!

Cherry Cobbler version is smaller the the original version I made the first time, I cut it down a bit to show more of Santa when it is open

Cherry Cobbler panel : 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″, score at 1/2″ on 5 1/2″ side

Very Vanilla layers: 4″ by 5 1/4″, you will need two

Cherry Cobbler panels: 5 1/4″ by 2 1/4″ and 5 1/4″ by 1 1/2″,Ā score at 1/2″ on 5 1/2″ side

Very Vanilla layers: 4 5/8″ by 2 1/8″ and 4 5/8″ by Ā 1 3/8″

Scraps of Very Vanilla if you want to add Holly Sprig “stoppers”

Stampin' Up

Autumn is a time for change right?~Rachthestamper, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

So, if you noticed, I updated my blog look…..you did notice right? šŸ˜‰

I think it gives a much cleaner look and feel and it focuses more on the card images. Well, those are my thoughts anyway. What do you think? Love it, Hate it?!?! I am dying to know! I try to keep things clean and simple and I love to see blogs that are clean as well. When I look around for great ideas and new cards and projects.

That is one of my favorite things to do, browse the web for cards……

You all know I have a problem, stampin on the brain 24/7….but I could have worse issues I suppose šŸ™‚

So, I will be trying to get on here and put a new post up at least twice a week. I am hoping you all will hold me to it if I slack off. I am going to really be hitting the ‘LIVES’ too, and I do both YouTube and Facebook ‘Lives’ if you are not aware. You can follow me on both platforms that way you’ll get a notification when I go live, so you don’t miss anything cool.

I’ve been trying to hit some milestones as well, so I would truly appreciate if you would invite your crafty or even not so crafty friends and family to watch and be sure to “SHARE” when you see me go live and better yet, leave a comment. Even if it’s just hello there, it helps me to be seen more on your feeds when you like and or comment on posts.

Also, I have been posting lots of previews to my blog and ‘LIVES’ on Instagram. It’s another fun and free site to hop on if you have space on your phone. Yes, the struggle is real, sometimes even I have to delete apps and photos to get more phone space.

So please, be sure to let me know your thoughts on the new format. I would totally be willing to go back if it will make y’all happier!

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

Halloween Mini Milk cartons, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers,

I want to send out my thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by Harvey, Irma, and the wildfires. I am thinking of and praying for you all. I cannot imagine what some people have seen and gone through in these past few weeks and I am very blessed to be safe with my family and friends.

My heart also goes out to the September 11th victims and families. It is a day I will NEVER FORGET. I pray you find peace in the memories of your loved ones. They will not be forgotten by me, and I thank them all for sacrificing what they had no choice in giving.

I have a project today that will hopefully bring a smile or smirk to your face, as we can all use a little uplifting on a day such as this.

I made these cute little mini milk cartons after watching a Facebook live that Angie Juda did this past Friday. She made an adorable triangle treat box, and I thought wouldn’t that be cool as a larger lidded project. I know I am not the first to think of this, but the way ideas come to me is usually through someones project that becomes something else in my mind.

That and for some reason as I fall asleep at night, I think about card or box ideas……probably why I am always so tired, seems my mind will not shut off.

Ok to on to the directions.

I made this box using a 6″ by 8 1/2″ piece of card stock. You could use DSP, but it may be slightly less sturdy.

Score on the 8 1/2″ long side at 2″, 4″, 6″, 8″

Score on the 6″ side at 1 /2″, then move to the other unscored side and score at 2″, move this new 2″ score line to 2″ and score again. This will make your box much easier to close since all the squares are not exactly equal. You will have a 2″, 2″ and about 1 1/2″ box.

Once you trim up the pieces that need trimming and need to be removed, you will again put your card stock in on the 8 1/2″ side, lining up the 1st and 3rd boxes in between the 1″ marks on the Stampin’ Trimmer. Then make a small tic mark with the score blade, your stylus or bone folder.

After doing both, you will take a ruler and score from the inside corner to the tick mark on both sides, on both boxes. ( This will all make immensely more sense if you watch the video as you go along.)

You will want to be sure to burnish all of your score lines with the bone folder, and be sure to use a really good adhesive, like Fast Fuse or Tear n Tape.

It’s all fully explained in the video in case this seems confusing.

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!!

XOXO Rach

2017 Holiday Catalog, 2017-18 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog, DSP Designer Series Paper, Fall & Autumn, Halloween, Regals Collection, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

Peek Through Halloween card,Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers! Thought I would share this fun and easy to create card with you today. It was an older idea of mine that I revamped for a Halloween card, but you could easily swap out the theme as well

Hope you give it a try and I would love to see your results!

To make the card, take a standard card base of 4 1/4″ by 11″, score on the 11″ side at 5 1/2″, then on one of the 5 1/2″ sides, trim 1 1/2″ from the bottom, then trim 2″ from the bottom, this will make your bottom and cross piece layer to hold the card together.

You will then need a sheet of 4″ by 5 1/2″ of Whisper White to make layers to add on. You will cut it at 1 3/8″ and 1 7/8″ two times to make layers for your card base.

It’s all fully explained in the video in case this seems confusing.

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!!

XOXO Rach

2017 Holiday Catalog, Annual Catalog, Blog Hop, Edgelits, Regals Collection, Stampin' Up

Anything But the Holidays, Stampin’ Up!

Ā WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME CARD

Hello stampers! This is a super fun style hop today, and this is my first “Outside the group” hop that I have ever done. I hope you like my design, it was fun to create. I always seem to look at the catalog in a different perspective, because I like my customers, downline and fellow stampers to get the most for their money with as many varied ideas as possible for a stamp set. I know a lot of people who simply do not purchase certain types of stamp sets, like Halloween or even Valentine’s Day for example because they feel they will never use them again. So I am happy to share this cute “Welcome to your new home ” card.

I tried to set the “New Home” apart by lighting up the windows and shining a light on it! I also thought adding in Garden Green trees would give lots of depth and filing to this actually quite simple card.

I cut several types of the houses, church and so on, and then layered them some flat, and some with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give much more of a “town on a hill” feeling.

Of course no card is complete, in my opinion anyway, without some Wink of Stella šŸ˜‰

I would love to hear your ideas and thoughts on this cool card!

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!!

XO Rach
