Hi Stampers!

Well, this Facebook LIVE kinda got off to a rough start, but I impressed even myself with the end result! This is  such a totally cool idea, to use two different embossing powders, and just using one powder but embossing it more than once gives an amazing result!

I hope you’ll watch this video and try it for yourself 🙂

All supplies used are listed below and some of these products will be available for purchase on January 3rd since they are in the new 2018 Occasions Catalog, so don’t fret if you cant locate certain things!

If you still need a copy of the catalog, send me your mailing address and I will send you one, Rachthestamper@gmail.com

2017 Holiday Catalog, 2017-18 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog, 3D projects, Blog Hop, Bundles, Christmas, DSP Designer Series Paper, Edgelits, Framelits, Fun Paper Boxes, Heat Embossing, Mix n Match stamp sets, One Sheet Wonder, Punches, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up, Thinlits

Christmas blog hop, Stampin’ Up! November

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to our Stamp It Group CHRISTMAS Blog Hop!!

I hope you will come away with so much inspiration and so many ideas, you forget to do your chores today 🙂

The project I designed today is actually one I just recently pulled out and decided I would redo it again, but until late yesterday , I had no idea I would use it for this blog hop.

It is so simple, fun and easy to create I figured it would be a huge hit to make for so many people in out lives. Especially at this giving time of year, when little things mean so much more than we know.

These would be super gift to give to your kids teachers, your daycare people, mom friends at school…..the list could go on and on. Lots of people might really want to give a little thank you note but not have the time or energy to get or make one, so you could save the day by gifting them this little box of goodies.

Its a simple design, you need a fun 8 1/2″ by 11″ piece of card stock. I would suggest using Thick Whisper White or Thick Very Vanilla as they are quite sturdy and will score and hold shape so well.

Then you can decorate with your choice of Designer Series Paper, or even some thinlits or edgelits as I have shown in the many examples.

You can also make the cards as simple or intricate as you’d like. You can decorate the fronts with 2 3/4″ square pieces of DSP, strips of Washi Tape, a Sentiment punched out and layered on another larger Punch, and so many more.

I hope you’ll give them a try and don’t be like me, give them out and share with someone you love and appreciate this holiday season!

Make sure to leave a comment along with #stampitcontest to be entered to win!

Measurements:

On the 8 1/2″ side, score at 1″ on each end

On the 11″ side, score at 1″ and 4″ on each side, you will end up with a 1″ score in the center if you do it correctly.

DSP Layers:

For the top of the box, you will need a piece of DSP measuring 3 7/8″ by 6 3/8″, two of each measuring 3/8″ by 6 3/8″ and 3/8″ by 3 7/8″ for the long front layers and two side layers.

The rest is up to you.

You could stamp a sentiment on Whisper White and punch it out with the 2″ Circle Punch, then punch a Starburst circle with Copper, Silver or Gold Foil paper. Make sure you give it some flair by tying a length of ribbon to hold it closed and add a small bow. Make it just loose enough that they can slide it off and back on and add some sparkle with the Silver Sequin trim.

Make it more rustic by adding Burlap Ribbon, a bow made of Copper Trim and then finish it by wrapping a Boxwood Wreath around the bows.

They may not even want to open it……but they will 🙂

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

XO Rach

Spotlight Stamping Technique with a Partial Die Cut for Christmas, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers! This is a new to me technique, and I am calling git Spotlight Stamping with or without Partial Diecutting, which means you cut about half of the image and leave the rest connected. It will give you a whole new way to use your thinlits, framelits and even edgelits!

I saw this technique on a video by a woman I truly admire for her extremely creative abilities, her name is Jennifer McGuire. She does absolutely incredible creations.

The idea with this technique, is that you can achieve it with just stamps or add dies to cut out part of your image and then it will give your card a fun feel because  of the unique angles your card stock is cut to, PLUS you can virtually guarantee each card will be unique depending on where you cut .

I hope you’ll give this a try and let me know what creations you come up with as well!

I used the Night in Bethlehem bundle and the Eastern Palace bundle for these two beauties, what will you create today?

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

Mini cards with Carried Away DSP, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers! These cards are so very fun to make! It’s like getting a two for one deal, because you can create so many, so quickly!

I hope you will forgive the shortness of this post….we are headed off on a little break, and I wanted to get one more post done for you, but I didn’t have a whole lot of time 🙂

You can make two tall, or two short cards, or four of both! They are super easy, and I can see a whole lot of these in my future. I also would love to see what you create. Will you send me some photos?

This is my one year anniversary as a blogger by the way! SO…….

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US 😉

’cause I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for you all! So thanks for sticking by me, and I promise to make this a fun, and crafty journey .

Ok, the cards  will vary depending on your choice of style. I will outline both, and you choose your fav.

Tall Card:

4 1/4″ by 11″ base of Thick Whisper White, score at 5 1/2″, then cut in half at 2 1/8″.

DSP layer measures 2″ by 5 2/8″, just add with some snail, and add the balloons with a dimensional, add clouds if you wish. Stamp your sentiment in Night of Navy, flag the end and add with snail or mini glue dots.

Wide Card:

5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, then cut in half at 2 6/8″.

DSP layer measures 2 1/2″ by 4″, again add with snail, and add a few dimensionals to the Night of Navy balloon, and attach. Add clouds if desired. Stamp your sentiment in Night of Navy ink and add with mini glue dots.

BOOM! Easy! Done, and this is such a fun, and simple card to make your own.

You can use a regular envelope to mail this since the clouds hang off, but the envelope is large enough to hold them in place.

Make sure to check out the video for a few extra tips and ideas!

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!

NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Regals Collection, Stampin' Up, Thinlits

July 4th card, Stampin’ Up

Hi stampers!! It’s almost that time: cookouts, fireworks, parades…..I really love the Americana of the 4th of July. Makes me feel so proud to live where we are F R E E to be what and whomever we want to be ! Honestly, whenever I create or think about a 4th card, I cannot but help sing patriotic songs in my head…..Does that happen to anyone else?!?

I have had this idea in my head for several months now……I really fell in love with the Lucky Stars embossing folder, so much so, that I really wracked my brains on how to make it into a flag card!!! I will spare you all of my sad reject cards, BUT then I saw the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. Like a bolt out of the blue, it hit me. I could actually make it into a “Flag Card”. So I positioned the Lucky Stars folder on the top corner of the Whisper White card stock, went over it in Night of Navy, then added Real Red “stripes” from the Swirly Scribbles set. SO DARN CUTE!! I also used the Bunch of Banners framelits, which I stamped in Night of Navy as well, then hand wrote in the “America the Beautiful” words. It really turned out so much more beautiful than it was in my head. I added some White Chalk marker to the debossed stars, and topped them with a little Wink of Stella.

Brights Collection, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Soft Subtles, Stampin' Up, Thinlits

Hope card for Breast Cancer Awareness, Stampin’ Up

Hi Stamping friends……and you crafty types too 😉 I am so sorry this post never went through :/ I usually plan so when I post a video, I do a blog post as well to give you all the supplies and measurements. Somehow this one slipped by me….

So, I thought that this would make a FANTASTIC  Breast Cancer Awareness card as soon as I saw the “HOPE” thinlit. And, naturally the Blushing Bride card stock is exactly the right shade of pink to bring it to life. Of course, I then decided that Melon Mambo would give such a wonderful pop of pink contrast, that I just couldn’t hold myself back 🙂

If there is a more wonderful cause, that truly unites women together to R O A R, I simply have not found it. There are so many survivors to celebrate, so many loved ones to honor and praise for the good fight they fought, so many young ones to educate. There is only one way to get the word out there: TALK. Talk about prevention, share your story, or that of a loved one, who can no longer spread the word. Be the friend someone may need to get the courage to get checked out. There is so much silence, because people are embarrassed, ashamed they waited so long, afraid they will have no support, scared that what they  fear will come true. The only way to help this go away, is to BE. Just be there for your friend, mother, sister in law, best friend, aunt, cousin. Maybe it’s a ride, a connection to get an appointment, or just an ear: to listen, not judge and be a shoulder to cry on. I hope this will inspire you, to DO just one thing to help another woman…….One less woman, we will have to lose before her time.

Until next time my friends…… Stay Crafty.
