Gift card holders from Paper & Glassine bags, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I know I am a tad bit behind on my blogs, so as a promise to myself and you all, I got caught all up right before my little vacation so you would have some fun things to create and be inspired by while I was away!

These two were super fun to create, and I think they make a fun way to give your gift, and an even better way to receive one.

You can change the DSP used, change the sentiment , change everything or you can make it just as it is.

What will you create? Send me a picture on Facebook and let me see too!!

Instructions:

You will want to score your bag (either one) at 3″, (on both sides) to get a better crease.

Cut a piece of DSP to measure 3 1/4″ by 12″. Then you will lay the DSP down( with the side dow you want to facing out) and fold to meet the sides. Then overlap the back, and add Snail to close the ends together.

If you want to add the Whisper White insert it will measure 4 1/2″ by 2 3/4″.

You can do a little background stamping for interest, and this will be the perfect spot to add your greeting. Also, make sure you tell them to enjoy the gift card, so they know to look for it inside!

You can stamp any sentiment you would like, and punch it out with the 2″ circle punch, add a second 2″ circle punch in Silver foil to add some zip. (How often do you hear that not related to Miracle Whip;))

You could stamp any sentiment, and punch it out with the Sweetheart punch, and then layer onto a 2″ circle punch with Dazzling Diamonds or the Blushing Bride glimmer paper too!

Wrap a little ribbon around it for added flair, or leave it more plain if you want to, it’s all up to you.

Hope you like this cute little treat holder as much as I do 🙂

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!

Valentine’s Little Box , Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I am happy to share the little box instructions with you! I really thought I already made this blog post and video, and I did, but it was on a Facebook Live, and I am not able to copy it to here. So, since so many asked, and I TRULY LOVE your feedback, I decided to get to it and fast. You are the reason I do this after all 🙂

Ok first of all, this doesn’t need to be a “little” box, you can make it whatever size you may want or need. As long as your paper is square, you are good to go. Mind you I think most paper stops at a 12×12 size, but let your heart run wild!

You will need a square piece of DSP or cardstock, Tombow Liquid glue, and your bone folder.

Another note, the Specialty DSP, is a little thinner, and will tend to rip a bit more, so if you choose to use it, be gentle with your folding , and maybe hold out on using your bone folder unless necessary.

Also, using card stock as your box, is much thicker, and can be done, but you will definitely need your bone folder.

So to sum it up, the regular DSP ( of any kind, In Color, patterned, solid color) will work the best, but the other will be fine as well, as long as you are patient.

Make sure your DSP is square, 6×6, 8×8, 5×5, 12×12, you get the idea, then follow the folds below.

So, forgive me, I reused the instruction photos from the Christmas Version ( it has been overcast and rainy, and I didn’t want to post dim photos)

I reloaded the Valentine’s version onto this , so you could follow along with both if you liked!

12″ by 12″ piece of DSP

Trimmed to 8″ by8″

Keep a 3″ by 3″ piece of the DSP and cut a 2 3/4″ by 2 3/4″ square of Very Vanilla

Score the Very Vanilla piece at 3/4″ on each side, fold, snip at corners add glue dots and form inside of lid.

Add snail to DSP piece add sentiment piece cut from 2″ circle punch , layered onto a 2 1/2″ circle layer of Cherry Cobbler

Fold 8″ by 8″ piece in half, fold in half again in the other direction.

Fold corner to corner and brandish folds with bone folder. You will also want to fold corner to  corner  the opposite way to get an easier fold.

(Ps the DSP side you want to show should be facing up or out so you can see it)

Fold the corners in to form a square then turn so the opening faces you

Fold edge in and back to form a crease line to follow then fold the bottom of the left and right in to meet the crease

Fill over and repeat. When you’re done it should be the shape of a kite( see below)

Put your finger in the newly created fold and press open like a “squash fold”

You want the center of the squash fold to line up with the side of the kite( in a line)

Repeat on all four sides as above

You will then fold the edge of the flaps back in the other direction

Remember it will always match on all sides, that is how Origami folds work

On all four sides so they again match….

And once more it looks like a kite

The fold all four flaps up and brandish with bone folder

All four folder up (see below)

Put your fingers into the box and gently press open

And Voila!

You can gently curl the edges of the flaps with your bone folder to encourage them to go with the curve of the box and add adhesive to all four flap undersides if your going to attach them down

2016 End of Year Sale & Clearance, Christmas, New 2016 Holiday Catalog!!, Punches, Retiring Products 2016, Stampin' Up

Classic Label Punch Wreath card, Stampin’ Up!

Hey stampers! I wanted to share a quick card you could create for many people really easily for Christmas this year. You could really use any type of punch, and the bird builder punch is super fun if you still own it! Otherwise I thought the Classic Label punch was a great substitution. It gave the wreath a completely different feel, more like a country Christmas card! It is also a great use for all the little scrap pieces you may have lying around. Plus, it give you a way to show off BOTH sides of our DSP, or DSP stacks……what is better than that?

I also used the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder to lay the wreath onto, and I think it makes the card so much softer. It will feel like a warm hug to anyone who is blessed enough to be on your Christmas card list.

Don’t forget, Stampin’ Up! has some great specials going on right now for the end of the year. The accessories will go quickly, so get them before they are gone.

It’s not too late to sign up for my Holiday Helper email list, you will get 13 project ideas for all of your Christmas gift giving needs. Just shoot me an email at Rachthestamper@gmail.com, and I will get it right out to you.

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

Blog Hop, Fall & Autumn, Fun Fold cards, New 2016 Holiday Catalog!!, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Punches, Stampin' Up, Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving blog hop: Stamp It Group, Stampin’ Up!

Hey stamping and crafting friends! Is it feeling Fall -like in your neck of the woods? We had some really crisp beautiful weather, and then like always, Summer tried to sneak back in this past week! I mean 80+’ in October…..WhAt is going on?!?!?!?! Well, I am going to revel in this incredible card and just pretend until Fall arrives 🙂

This was such a fun card to make, and the idea for the picket fence came to me in a completely different card that my friend Tami White created. It was inspired from a piano card, and when I saw the keys, I immediately thought “picket fence”! Crazy I know.

The video I created shows you in much more depth how to create the card, so feel free to power-watch it to get a better feel of the instructions!

You will start with a piece of card stock that measures 4 1/4″ by 10″.

You will first score it on the 10″ side at 5 1/2″, then turning it 90′, put the end of your card stock at the 3 1/4″ mark, and score down 1 1/2″, move your card stock down to  7 3/4″, and score up to the 1 1/2″ mark.

Turn your card stock back so it is portrait orientated along the 10″ side, and move the bottom of your card stock to 2 5/8″, and you will now use the cutting blade to cut from one 1 1/2″ score line to the other. Don’t worry if it runs over a tiny bit, it will not affect your card in any way.

You will want to reinforce the score lines with your bone folder.

Next you are going to stamp your trees on a 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White. I arranged it into a scene so I could make the image look seamless once it is trimmed and attached to the card. What you will do once you finish your design is trim the Whisper White piece to  3 1/8″ by about 4″, another piece at 2 1/8″ by 4″ and finally a piece at 2 1/8″ by 2 3/8″. For the sentiment I used the third largest scalloped oval to cut the Garden Green, and the fourth and fifth largest and Val’s for the Crushed Curry and Whisper White respectively.

I created the fence posts by stamping the Hardwood background stamp in Chocolate Chip ink onto Crumb Cake card stock, then punched out the posts using the Classic Label punch.

I lined up the posts, here’s them down and then trimmer from the back. I cut a post in half lengthwise to make the support beams, again attached with Snail

This card has so many seasonal and sentiment possibilities! I hope you love it as much as I do!

Until next time, Stay Crafty!!

Brights Collection, DSP Designer Series Paper, Framelits, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Punches, Stampin' Up

DSP overlay card, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! This is a quick and easy card , especially if you need to make a few fun cards, or maybe a gift stack of cards for a friend! You can choose any color combo, but I think it is so fun with the Brights DSP and card stock collection.

I simply chose my color and 1,2,3……I was done.

You are going to have a base of 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″. Then cut two strips of DSP from the Designer Series Paper stack color you chose. They will measure 3/4″ by 5 1/2″…you may need to trim off just a tiny bit from the bottom once you adhere it. I then cut out a Scallop circle from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and a size smaller circle from Whisper White with the Layering Circle Framelits. So so easy! I added a pop of Pool Party paper and used the Banner Triple Punch to flag the ends. You could also add rhinestones or pearl jewels, a bit of ribbon or just some Wink of Stella.

Hope this sparks your creative juices 🙂

Until next time, Stay Crafty!
