Brusho 101, tips and tricks on vellum and more, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

This was such a whirlwind of info, if you missed anything make sure you go back and rewatch the video. I have a tip on how to adhere vellum with no glue dots, so it gives a more no-show look! Also two ways to do the Brusho Crystal Colours one using dry Watercolor paper and the other using wet Watercolor paper. Also showed how to do a  super pretty ink flicking technique which gives a fun splatter and really soft enhancement to any card!

February hostess code is 4ZGQUEW3, use that for any order  under $125, also if you have a $50 order you will get a free full color PDF and one Sale A Bration item as well. IF you have a larger order, you are your own hostess, so you get the rewards 🙂

I also showed the new SAB items that are coming very soon, February  16th to be exact and the first release SAB items will start to be while supplies last as well, so make sure you get everything on your list before its gone for good.

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

A Fish Tank card & A Marbled Valentine , Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

These two cards were so fun to create. I redid the tank card from a Birthday card I made last week. The idea just popped into my head and I went with it. Those are always the best ideas too!!

You can create the “tank” by making a frame with your trimmer by measuring it out and then trimming, or winging it by cutting a rectangle from a 4″ by 5 1/4″ panel, I trimmed at the 1/4″ mark on each side. Also if you make an whoopsies, you can add some seaweed in front to cover them up. I will add a measured and marked “Tank” photo to this as well for those who like specific instructions and diagrams.

Hope you’ll give this super fun technique a try!

Until next time,

Smooshing Technique, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

This was a super fun and fly by the seat of my pants project. I didn’t really even have an idea in mind and I love how these cards turned out 🙂 I also think in addition to the “Smooshing Technique”, Heat Embossing the entire card was such a WOW!!

So just in case you missed it, Ink Smooshing is just added ink from your stamp pad, reinker or even Stampin’ Write markers to either a piece of Window Sheet, a clear piece of sheet that comes with your photopolymer stamp sets, or use a plastic baggie or piece of clear food wrap.

You can dilute it with water from your aqua painter, or Stampin’ spritzer, then flip it onto a 4″ by 5 1/4″ panel of Thick Whisper White card stock. You can pick it up and move it around, or reink and do it again.

To do the whole sheet with the clear embossing, I first made sure the ink was dry with the Heat Tool, then direct to paper added Versamark, covered with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it. It gives a super shiny, almost underwater look.

I will be LIVE again next Wednesday at 930am EST on my Facebook page with a brand new card idea. You can find me here.

Until next time,

Old Photo Slider card: B & W reigns supreme! , Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

These were such  fun cards to make, and you can make it your own, make someone smile and recycle/ clean out your stash while you’re at it!

I added a window slider portion if you think the recipient may want to keep the photo outside the card.

You will start with a base of 4 1/4″ by 11″, you will need another 4″ by 5 1/4″ piece to layer your photo onto. Also a 5″ by 5 1/4″ piece of coordinating card stock that you will score at a 1/2″ on each side on the 5 1/4″ side. It is easy to see how to assemble in in the second video, and you will attach your photo to the extra panel and slide it right up and into your card base!

Make sure you use your Embossing Buddy, my last card I skipped and static won ;(

I would love to see what cards you’ve created with old photos as well!

Until next time,

A Beautiful Peacock quick and easy, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

If you’ve noticed I’ve been a bit slow posting, you are correct. I am really in a creative funk after Christmas, I am not sure why. I blogged a TON of Christmas ideas, and I felt like it went fairly slowly. I miss Christmas! So, I am trying to get a reboot which I began late last night using this super Fun and FREE to earn Sale A Bration Beautiful Peacock stamp set. I made a few different versions of this card but kid of stayed with the same colors. This set is super fun to use, and will be a breeze to do multi step stamping with once my Stamparatus arrives!

Also, something new I learned the other day! Did you know , if you want to embossing something in a specific ink color, you can?

It is even easier than the first way I suggested, which is really inking up your ink pad color of choice , stamping the image and then adding Clear Embossing Powder, Heat and Set.

What you do, is get out your Versamark and the ink pad you want. You will want to have run your embossing buddy on your paper (especially with this dry Winter weather) , then stamp your image in Versamark, then directly into the ink pad color you want, stamp add Clear Embossing Powder and Heat set.

That is how I did the inside of the second card with the “Beautiful Friend” sentiment! It was a quick and easy way, plus you dont need to worry as much about your ink drying before you can heat set it. You may have known this already, but I didn’t , so I had to share 🙂

Don’t forget I will be LIVE again tomorrow at 930am EST on the Facebook page with a card you are not going to want to miss! We will be using old photographs, I know you still have a box of them somewhere, and even better if they’re Black & White!

Until next time,

Brusho Basics, 2018 Occasions and Sale A Bration catalog Go Live, Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to 2018! I hope you had an amazing Christmas and New Years Holiday with family and friends.

We begin today with a bit of a preview into the long awaited 2018 Occasions Catalog and 2018 Sale A Bration catalog!

I was finally able to show the insides of each and had a few examples of things I have created and ideas as well. I did a little watercoloring with the all new BRUSHO Crystal Colors. They are powder watercolor paints that activate with water or alcohol. I used the Waterfront stamp set which is brand new and SO SO beautiful to show you how easy it is to use.

Using the Aquapainters with the Brusho is an effortless way to create a gorgeous scene. I even had a viewer suggest a volcano card with this set, which I am MOST CERTAINLY going to try to create. You can use the Brusho in so many ways, and I illustrated a few on the video.

I am still learning how to use them and playing with new techniques, so I am open to suggestions if you have any!

Until next time,

Stay Crafty
