Stampin' Up Sky is the Limit

Hi friends! Sale a bration will soon be coming to a close…. This was a limited time set that was going to retire ,  but it’s still available (while supplies last). It really is a great “dude” set, birthdays,  graduations, Father’s Day ….. They’re all coming, and this would be a great addition to your collection.  Also did I mention, it’s free with a $50 purchase, thru March 31, 2016.

Side note, my brother told me a tidbit when I showed him this card.  He recently saw a Wright Brothers exhibit ( which this plane seems to be modeled after), the right wing on the plane is longer than the left wing because they had to balance out the weight of the engine, which was on the left wing……The Wright brothers’ right wing…..sounds like the beginning of a tongue twister :-O…… took a detour on that one!
Back to business,  punch a 1 3/4″ circle out of a post it note , make sure you have some of the sticky when you punch it, pick a spot and stick it down. Then you’ll want to pick some colors that are similar in color family (sunset, sunrise etc). I chose Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Rose Red. I inked up my brayer in the lightest color( Rose Red) and went over most of the card but a lot lighter near the bottom , cleaned and reinked in Pumpkin Pie more mid to bottom of card, then finished the mid to top( heavier at the top) in Cherry Cobbler. The cool thing about brayering is every card is just a bit different and really, they are all great. It does take some getting used to,  but I LOVE brayering! Remove the post it and lightly go over the “sun” with Crushed Curry and then a little Pumpkin Pie for depth. I then layered the brayered card stock up on a dimensional onto another whisper white piece, once more up on dimensionals and then attached to Cherry Cobbler card stock. I stamped the sentiment in Archival black and punched it out with the decorative label punch and adhered with snail. You could also do this as a moon night sky card which I will try to show you in another upcoming post.
