Well hello stampers! How do you like my updated craft room? It was certainly fun to get everyone out and all FINALLY organized! I have a place for everything now……WAIT, well that is until something new and fun comes out anyway 😉
Have you tried to create this beautiful card yet? It was so fun, and the funny thing about watercoloring or brayering, is it changes. It changes as you color, it changes as you add, and it completely changes once it is fully dry. I you haven’t tried it you should, I can almost guarantee that any card will turn out wonderfully. Especially if you give it time to dry. So if you do give this a go, and you don’t like, come back and peek at it the next morning, and I promise it will be a one of a kind beauty, just like you!
Full instructions are in the video , so be sure to give it a look, and you will also find some tips on how to smooth out your image if you are not happy with it.
Base card: Night of Navy 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
Hi Stampers! Hope you are going to have a beautiful stampin’ day:)
This is a VERY easy card to do, just pick two(or three) card stock colors, add White or Vanilla and BOOM!
D O N E!!
You could even add in some dimensionals on the layers inbetween to give some extra interest to your card. This is a nice card to switch out either the greetings and/or the images to give it a completely different feel.
Measurements are as follows
Base:4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″
Layers of: 4″ by 5 1/4″, 3 3/4″ by 5″, 3 1/2″ by 4 3/4″, 3″ by 4 1/2″
Whisper White or Very Vanilla : 2 3/4″ by 4 1/4″
You could also layer by 1/8″ measurements if you choose.
I’d love to hear what sentiment or stamp image you used in the comments below!
Last night I decided to brainstorm a few ideas , since Sale A Bration is ending and the new catalog will be coming out soon. We don’t know which sets will stay and which will go, but I found a new one that has really won me over in versatility, and an old tried and true to show off! The Hello, Sailor is sadly retired, but there are several other sea themed sets( and you know I own them all), that would substitute beautifully! The Hardwood Background stamp is so cool….use it as a fence, floor, deck….it’s really interchangeable. Also, just in the different types of wood it could be!
The first card has a Mint Macaron base of 4 1/4″ by 11″ , scored at 5 1/2″ , so it is a vertical stand card. I used a piece of the Perfectly Artistic DSP, that is in the SAB catty. I used the greenish shade as I thought it went the best colorwise, and attached with Snail adhesive. It’s cut at 4″ by 5 1/4″. I added strips of Mint Macaron, 4 to be exact, measured at 1″ by 4 1/4″ and sponged the edges in Mint Macaron as well, placed on again with Snail. Then I used a piece of Watermelon Wonder 2 7/8″ by 4 7/8″ , sponged in the matching ink and a piece of Whisper White at 2 6/8″ by 4 6/8″. I stamped the leaves in Mint Macaron, and flower in Watermelon Wonder. These were attached with Snail as well. I used the 2 3/8″ Scallop Punch in Watermelon Wonder, and the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch in Whisper White. I popped each of those two up on dimensionals. Then, finally added a bow in the Whisper White Stitched Satin ribbon. Also, my new FAVORITE, Wink of Stella on the Mint sweep.
Side note: I am not a glitter fan…..for me it never ends up where I want, so it’s usually all over me. HOWEVER…..I LOVE the Wink of Stella, I truly have added it to almost every new card I’ve made since it was delivered……and even re-embellished a few old cards too!
OK, back to our regularly scheduled stamping….. 🙂
For the second card, I used Tempting Turquoise as the base, again a vertical card.
Base: 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
Second layer: Crumb Cake 4″ by 5 1/4″, I used the Hardwood Background stamp in Early Espresso and sponged the edges as well.
Top Layer: 2 1/2″ by 4 2/8″ piece of Crumb Cake, stamped again with the Hardwood, but this time in Crumb Cake, sponged the edges as well. I cut a notch to make it a banner style layer.
I used a piece of the Whisper White Stitched Satin Ribbon, and used my dauber to add Tempting Turquoise until I got the shade I liked.
I also used a piece of Crumb Cake on the inside to keep the more masculine tone of the card.
Again, sadly the Hello, Sailor set is RETIRED :(….but there are many other Nautical or Nature stamp set you could substitute in…..Sorry about that!
Hope these hold you over until tomorrow….I have a really cute video to share with Y O U!!
Till next time;)

Ifound this simply, beautiful card on Pinterest. It is so pure and light and airy I just had to make it, and I finally got my Wink of Stella brush in the mail….. I just couldn’t resist!
Card base is Tip Top Taupe cut at 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4″, second layer is Marina Mist cut at 5 1/4″ by 4″, then Whisper White cut at 5 1/8″ by 3 7/8″. I stamped 5 hexagons of the various patterns from the Six Sided Sampler onto Whisper White, and punched them out with the coordinating Hexagon Punch. I tested out the arrangement of the hexagons, then stamped the splatter stamp from Timeless Textures in Tip Top Taupe. I secured them all down with Snail adhesive, then I cut a piece of the clear glitter tape( which came today as well) in half lengthwise and slipped it right along the bottom edge of the hexagons. I went back in and added some Wink of Stella through the splattered areas. I thought the small heart punch was cute but decided to curl the whole heart with my bone folder to rough it up. On card #1 I actually worked the card stock hard enough, that I was able to split it in half and put the rough or “suede side” facing up. On card #2, I added a second heart in Marina Mist that I roughed up with the bone folder as well. All the hearts are popped up into dimensionals with a few Pearls on the solo heart!
Simple. Pure. Beautiful.
Just as life should be, Enjoy your day!

Extra, Extra!!! Sale a bration is coming to a close very soon:-( Get it while you can , one free SAB item with every $50 purchase…..ends March 31,2016.
You could get a Paper Pumpkin subscription and have all the supplies cut and sent right to your door….they even give you ideas on cards…..how easy is that? There are lots of great things to choose , so pop by my online store, http://rachthestamper.stampinup.net/ and take a peek.
Now on to this simple card…..
All three cards have a base of 4 1/4″ by 11″ , scored at 5 1/2″. Two have a Basic Black card base, one is done in Tip Top Taupe. Also you will need several pieces of Whisper White, two cut at 4″ by 5 1/4″, 1 for the front and 1 for the inside panel, and 1 additional piece to stamp own design onto. Since I did the card fronts three different ways, you’ll have to choose which style you want. #1 card pop up measures 3 1/2″ by 4 1/4″. #2 card pop up measures 3 3/4″ by 4 1/2″. The final card #3 has two layers to it,Maybe not Macaron at 3″ by 4 3/4″, Whisper White at 2 3/4″ by 4 1/2″, and really you could do a second layer to any of these cards to give it an extra poppy depth! Add a few Pearl Jewels and it makes such a pretty, yet simple card.
Hi friends! Sale a bration will soon be coming to a close…. This was a limited time set that was going to retire , but it’s still available (while supplies last). It really is a great “dude” set, birthdays, graduations, Father’s Day ….. They’re all coming, and this would be a great addition to your collection. Also did I mention, it’s free with a $50 purchase, thru March 31, 2016.
Side note, my brother told me a tidbit when I showed him this card. He recently saw a Wright Brothers exhibit ( which this plane seems to be modeled after), the right wing on the plane is longer than the left wing because they had to balance out the weight of the engine, which was on the left wing……The Wright brothers’ right wing…..sounds like the beginning of a tongue twister :-O…… took a detour on that one!
Back to business, punch a 1 3/4″ circle out of a post it note , make sure you have some of the sticky when you punch it, pick a spot and stick it down. Then you’ll want to pick some colors that are similar in color family (sunset, sunrise etc). I chose Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Rose Red. I inked up my brayer in the lightest color( Rose Red) and went over most of the card but a lot lighter near the bottom , cleaned and reinked in Pumpkin Pie more mid to bottom of card, then finished the mid to top( heavier at the top) in Cherry Cobbler. The cool thing about brayering is every card is just a bit different and really, they are all great. It does take some getting used to, but I LOVE brayering! Remove the post it and lightly go over the “sun” with Crushed Curry and then a little Pumpkin Pie for depth. I then layered the brayered card stock up on a dimensional onto another whisper white piece, once more up on dimensionals and then attached to Cherry Cobbler card stock. I stamped the sentiment in Archival black and punched it out with the decorative label punch and adhered with snail. You could also do this as a moon night sky card which I will try to show you in another upcoming post.
Well as most of you (well the two of you anyway 😏), have noticed…. Hee hee, I have a lot of new hostess sets! I really love the sentiments in Lovely, but adore the entire Thoughts set. It’s so beautiful and versatile. Congrats, sympathy, cheer you up, endless possibilities really! I’ve always wanted a hydrangea stamp and the words and font of this set…. OH! Just gorgeous…..
Alrighty , on to the cards. I did this three different ways and I could’ve done 10 more (at least)
On all the cards, I used the black archival ink to stamp the hydrangea, butterfly and most sentiments. With the exception of Tip Top Taupe for the circle stamp and the “my friend” done in Cucumber Crush.
All the card bases are 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and each interior has a Whisper White piece 4″ by 5 1/4″ and a second piece for the front panel stamp.
On #1, the Lost Lagoon card, I stamped in black Archival ink and stamped off to one side slightly. Filled the flowers in with a Mint Macaron marker, blended it with the blender pen and outlined with a Lost Lagoon marker and blended the outlined color in to smooth the flower out. i repeated on the leaves and stem with a Pear Pizzazz marker on the inside and outlined the leaf with a Mossy Meadow marker, and again blended. Just a note when coloring on Whisper White with the markers and blender pens, you should go light with your hand, this paper is not as sturdy as the thick Whisper White card stock and most definitely not as strong as watercolor paper, but still entirely doable……just take your time and be easy on yourself. It just takes practice and patience and I do love how crisp the Whisper White paper is against a marker-ed foreground! I finished with the sentiment in archival black.
On #2, the Blackberry bliss card, this was actually done on watercolor and Whisper White paper, I stamped again the flower in black onto the Whisper White, then again on a scrap(big enough to fit) piece of watercolor paper. I filled in the edges of the Whisper White piece with the coordinating marker so you wouldn’t see harsh edges since the other image will be trimmed and popped up onto dimensionals. You don’t need to go to far from the edges about 1/4″ to 1/2 “, you can do more it certainly won’t hurt , just a waste of time since the water coloring is more fun in my opinion! I filled up my aqua painter with tap water, smooshed my ink pad onto the lid to make a pool of color and dipped the brush into the pool. You’ll want to do the outlined areas and darker shaded areas with your first dab since it’s darker and just blend out, you can dilute with more water as you choose and when you move to another color, just squeeze out some water onto a paper towel or rag, to clear out your current color. Finish up and let your image dry ( if you’re in a hurry, you could always use the heat gun to dry it ). Also one quick tip when you color your flower, go outside the lines so you don’t have a harsh white edge once you trim out your flower. Then you will want to fussy cut your flower with the paper snips, they have tiny snips to get those little spots(again a little practice make perfect). I popped it up on dimensionals and stamped my sentiment in Cucumber Crush. Add your Whisper White and punched circle to the inside and …..D.O.N.E.! :)…..OK, confession time, I totally thought that little” you’re a whole lot of lovely” circle would look cute on the front. That was my original intended spot, but I did not like it …. AT ALL! So, since I had managed to punch the circle out pretty close to the edge, i decided to save it ( I’m a paper hoarder, remember?) and put the white inside, and popped the circle up on a dimensional too……looks pretty good, for a goof up I think!
On #3, the Watermelon Wonder card, before I start, I would HIGHLY suggest stamping a hydrangea and fussy cutting it out, doesn’t matter on what color paper, but I think this card would have been even more beautiful if the layers were not able to be seen overlapping. Now I know in real life flowers do their own thing, but if you have the time and want to make it a little nicer, give it a try……Ok back to reality, I stamped the flower in black in a few different positions and used a Pink Pirouette(lightest) marker and a Watermelon Wonder(edges)marker, for the flowers. Then a Pear Pizzazz marker inside, and an Old Olive marker for the outline of the leaves. Again, delicate hand since this is on regular old Whisper White card stock. The sentiment stamped in black and I stamped the butterfly on a scrap piece, colored in with Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist markers and fussy cut it out. I popped the butterfly up on a dimensional as well. I attached the Whisper White (3 3/4″” by 5 “) onto a Watermelon Wonder piece( 4″ by 5 1/4”) and finally adhered to a Basic Black card base. Add Whisper White to the inside as well.
So a few things: you could do these in so many colors, i think the black card stock on #3 really pops the colors, and the possibilities are really unlimited with the sentiment….or as a few ladies I know do….leave it blank until you decide who you’re going to send it to!
Make someones day……you have all these great cards, get your hiney to the Post Office and stock up on stamps! (The other kind;-D)
