Brayer card & NEW Craft Room Tour, Stampin’ Up!

Well hello stampers! How do you like my updated craft room? It was certainly fun to get everyone out and all FINALLY organized! I have a place for everything now……WAIT, well that is until something new and fun comes out anyway 😉

Have you tried to create this beautiful card yet? It was so fun, and the funny thing about watercoloring or brayering, is it changes. It changes as you color, it changes as you add, and it completely changes once it is fully dry. I you haven’t tried it you should, I can almost guarantee that any card will turn out wonderfully. Especially if you give it time to dry. So if you do give this a go, and you don’t like, come back and peek at it the next morning, and I promise it will be a one of a kind beauty, just like you!

Full instructions are in the video , so be sure to give it a look, and you will also find some tips on how to smooth out your image if you are not happy with it.

Stamp It Group Blog Hop, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! Are you getting excited? Only a FEW short days until the NEW 2016 Holiday Catalog goes live for customers….September 1st to be exact 🙂 You are just not gonna believe all of the cute stamp sets, accessories, ribbon……my oh my, I could go on and on! I chose this fun set to create a Thanksgiving or Autumn themed card  to show just how versatile a lot of the different stamp sets are. I have many more great ideas for things you might not have thought of when you first saw the catalog. There will be ways to use stamp sets for completely different holidays than they were designed for too. So many ways to get a set, and stretch it to a whole new level….and Holiday 😉

This was a very simple card to make, I simply used the Sponge Brayer to create the sunset background for the card, and added layers from there. I sponged, or used the sponge daubers to give each layer another level of depth and feeling. One thing to keep in mind for the Halloween Scenes Edgelits is that you can use them as another whole layer to the card, or you can place them lower on the card stock you are cutting them from so you can layer them as I did below. You could also cut the tree out in Very Vanilla, and use sponges to add in some fall color, and almost make the bottom look like fallen leaves piled up. Another way to use the fence would be to layer it back a layer on top of one of the farther hills, add the tree in, and then add an additional fence in front. Just a few thoughts on how to change it up, of course you will love this as a Spooky Halloween tree as well 🙂

I’m So Sorry/Thinking of You, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I created this very simple, but meaningful card from the very versitile Woodlands TEIF. It is such a nice embossing folder, and has so many variations that you can do with it. I have seen people brayer the inside, and even stamp images to transfer to the card stock. It’s pretty cool since it gives a hiding behind the trees effect. I would love to do that type of card, if you all would like to see one done. Please leave me a comment here and I will be sure to do a new video for it. These cards are very simple to make and you could make a bunch in different colors , with varied sentiments and give as a really sweet, little pick me up gift. Just add some Whisper White envelopes 😌

They’re standard card size 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4″, with a 5 1/4″ by 4″ embossed layer.
Until next time…Stay Crafty!

Sunset Bridge I’m So Sorry, Stampin’ Up

Hi stampers….. This is another card made with the Wherever You Go stamp set, which as you see I clearly have an obsession with right now😊. I also used the new Classic Label punch that has just recently come out, it’s kind of like a reverse flag punch style. I really like it too. All of the full instructions are on the video which you can see below, or by subscribing to my You Tube channel at Rachthestamper. Hope you enjoy this version as well….. I promise I’ll move on to a new stamp set soon😝

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

Replay of LiVe PerIScoPe!, Heat Embossing, New Brayer, Stampin’ Up

Hi stampers……In case you missed it live, here is the replay of the Periscope broadcast I did earlier this evening. I did a card with the all new Wherever You Go stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I adore this new set, and I was having some trouble with getting the bridge placement how I wanted it, so I pulled out all the stops…….Heat Embossing was my solution. I hope you’ll take a peek, and leave me a comment on what you might have done differently, or just how you like the card!

I have another great card with this same set coming tomorrow…..Wanna sneak peek? If you watch the video, you’ll get one 🙂

** Also I noticed after the fact, that you can no longer order Black Embossing Powder on the Stampin’ Up website…..I am so sorry I did not notice sooner, but if you do not already own Black Embossing Powder, what you could do instead to get a Black Embossed bridge, is ink up you image with the Archival black, STaz-On or Memento ink pad, and use Clear Embossing Powder instead, and it will make a Black Embossed image……just through a different channel… Hope that helps :)**

Until next time….. Stay Crafty!

Father’s Day Brayering, Stampin’ Up

Hello Stampin’ friends! I think I’m beginning to grow webbed feet from all of this rain😝. I know it’ll help the spring flowers but I can’t remember what the sunshine looks like. I hope you’ll enjoy this very thoughtful Fathers Day card! If it came with the fog horn sound we’d be all set😉. I think this is a great card too for the symbolic nature of the lighthouse. It’s super easy and once again uses my favorite brayer technique. Plus you could even switch out the dunes to Night of Navy and have it become cliffs instead!

Card measurements below, stay dry, enjoy spring and until next time…. Stay Crafty!

Card base: 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ in Night of Navy

Layer: 4″ by 5 1/4″ in Whisper White

Dunes layer: approx 4″ by 5 1/4″( you will not use the entire top layer but you will need the full legnth) in Very Vanilla

Two scrap pieces of Whisper White one for the lighthouse and a second for the sentiment. Also a piece of scrap sentiment in Night of Navy to back up the sentiment.

Supplies:

Bye Bye Brayer, Wetlands Stampin’ Up

This is one of the hardest titles to type……I simply LOVE my brayer!!! I know something else very cool will be coming in the new catalog, but this is my favorite tool to make cards. I will still do brayer cards if you all have interest in them too,  so all you have to do is let me know.Tell me in the comments below what type of cards YOU are interest in seeing made. That way this blog is for me and YOU:)

This is a very pretty card as it was, but as the video ended, I confess, I added some wink of stella to the moon……I thought it gave such a pretty sparkle.

Otherwise very simple in the making of this card, three colors, plus black….who doesn’t have these in their stash, right?

I used a Night of Navy base, and a Whisper White panel. It is really that easy, check out the video for full details. And you know me, I always have a few extra ideas that I have since forgotten;)

Until next time……Stay Crafty!
