Brayer card & NEW Craft Room Tour, Stampin’ Up!

Well hello stampers! How do you like my updated craft room? It was certainly fun to get everyone out and all FINALLY organized! I have a place for everything now……WAIT, well that is until something new and fun comes out anyway ūüėČ

Have you tried to create this beautiful card yet? It was so fun, and the funny thing about watercoloring or brayering, is it changes. It changes as you color, it changes as you add, and it completely changes once it is fully dry. I you haven’t tried it you should, I can almost guarantee that any card will turn out wonderfully. Especially if you give it time to dry. So if you do give this a go, and you don’t like, come back and peek at it the next morning, and I promise it will be a one of a kind beauty, just like you!

Full instructions are in the video , so be sure to give it a look, and you will also find some tips on how to smooth out your image if you are not happy with it.

2017 Occasions catalog, Birthday cards, DSP Designer Series Paper, Fun Fold cards, Neutrals Collection, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Soft Subtles, Stampin' Up

¬†A Softer Balloon Adventure , Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampin’ friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Have you created anything today? Well, if the answer is no, then this is your next project! This is a tried and true “Z” fold style card, and it has a second layer to add some additional visual interest ūüôā

This card is bright and full of fun in the 2017 Occasions catalog, and sometimes that can make it hard for people who may not bright and loud to see how they could use it. So ,I made this a very soft and feminine card, to give you a different perspective, and help you see some other options. But you can easily switch it out to your taste, and make it a bright card too!

Card base: Tip Tip Taupe¬†measuring 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 2 3/4″and 5 1/2″.

DSP¬†layers for the base measure 4″ by 5 1/4″, and two 2 1/2″ by 4″pieces. Then two Whisper White pieces at 21/4″ by 3 3/4″. I stamped the balloons in Tip Top Taupe, doing one in a lighter shade by stamping off first. I stamped the confetti in Blushing Bride ink, and the sentiment as well.I added a few Pearl embellishments to the front too.

Inside base measures¬†¬†3″ by 8″, score at 4″. Two Whisper White pieces at 3 3/4″ by 2 3/4″, and a DSP layer at 3 1/2″ by 2 1/2″.

You could add a little extra pizzazz to the front inside layer by punching a few balloons form the Balloon Builder punch in Tip Top Taupe and¬†Blushing Bride, and pop them up on dimensional. I do think it’s a perfectly beautiful card, just as it is, do you?

Thanks for stopping in.

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!!!!

2014-2016 In Colors, 2015-2017 In Colors, Birthday cards, Brights Collection, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

Build a Birthday, Stampin’ Up!

Hey there stampers! I am going down memory lane and perusing the 2016-17 annual catalog for little gems that I have sadly forgotten! These sets sometimes get missed when the Occasions catty drops. I will go back lots of times and think I can’t believe I haven’t used that set in so long, and I will pull it out and use the heck out of it!

I sometimes think of my stamp sets in the Toy Story fashion, as if they are just siting there saying ” Why isn’t Rach using us?” I know, I am a tad corny, but I am what I am !

Anyway, this quick and easy birthday card should be on your “must create in case of emergency birthday ” list! I know I sometimes go through that stack of cards quicker than I like to admit, and this card is a great way to add back to your stack pretty quickly.

Plus, you could change the colors around, and make it a great 50 ( or 60 or 70) and Fabulous card, by using Smoky Slate, and Archival black for that Black Tie look. Add a little glimmer paper, and you will WOW them.

See, I just gave myself a new idea as I was typing, so off to the craft room to recreate!

OK onto the directions!

Card Base: Watermelon Wonder 5 1/2″ by 81/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Stamp the flags from the Build a Birthday set onto the base in Watermelon Wonder ink in a random pattern.

Stamp the layers of the cake, and trim just to size using the paper snips.

My colors were from bottom to top:

Cake Plate: Dapper Denim, I used a blender Pen to add some White craft ink to the edge and to add details.

Cake : Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Cucumber Crush

I stamped the sentiment and the top flags in Watermelon Wonder. I hand trimmed the sentiment, and I stamped the flags directly onto the base layer of card stock that I layered the “cake” onto.

The Whisper White layer measures 2 3/4″ by 4 3/4″, I also added some Silver metallic thread under the white layer for some added pop. I went over the flags and the cake plate with Wink of Stella for a little sparkle!

Until next time……

Stay Crafty!

Annual Catalog, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Stampin' Up

Bookcase Builder, Stampin’ Up!

Hey stampers! Here are two quick and fun cards you can create and make exactly your way with the Bookcase Builder photopolymer stamp set.

Truly the hardest part is choosing which accessories you are going to use. I did one with a Bermuda Bay card base, and the other with Wisteria Wonder. I thought they were really easy to make for any type of Baby Shower card, Announcement card, or Welcome Baby gift card!

I thought another cute way to make this card, would be to stamp all your objects in Smokey Slate, and then the one baby item in Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, So Saffron or Wild Wasabi to show how much light, life and love a baby brings to a sometimes dull world.

I hope you like these two sweet cards and you will give them a try as well!

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!!

Rach

2017 Occasions catalog, 2017 Sale A Bration, Brights Collection, DSP Designer Series Paper, DSP stacks, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Paper Bags, Punches, Soft Subtles, Stampin' Up

Gift card holders from Paper & Glassine bags, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I know I am a tad bit behind on my blogs, so as a promise to myself and you all, I got caught all up right before my little vacation so you would have some fun things to create and be inspired by while I was away!

These two were super fun to create, and I think they make a fun way to give your gift, and an even better way to receive one.

You can change the DSP used, change the sentiment , change everything or you can make it just as it is.

What will you create? Send me a picture on Facebook and let me see too!!

Instructions:

You will want to score your bag (either one) at 3″, (on both sides) to get a better crease.

Cut a piece of DSP to measure 3 1/4″ by 12″. Then you will lay the DSP down( with the side dow you want to facing out) and fold to meet the sides. Then overlap the back, and add Snail to close the ends together.

If you want to add the Whisper White insert it will measure 4 1/2″ by 2 3/4″.

You can do a little background stamping for interest, and this will be the perfect spot to add your greeting. Also, make sure you tell them to enjoy the gift card, so they know to look for it inside!

You can stamp any sentiment you would like, and punch it out with the 2″ circle punch, add a second 2″ circle punch in Silver foil to add some zip. (How often do you hear that not related to Miracle Whip;))

You could stamp any sentiment, and punch it out with the Sweetheart punch, and then layer onto a 2″ circle punch with Dazzling Diamonds or the Blushing Bride glimmer paper too!

Wrap a little ribbon around it for added flair, or leave it more plain if you want to, it’s all up to you.

Hope you like this cute little treat holder as much as I do ūüôā

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!

2017 Occasions catalog, Blog Hop, Brights Collection, DSP Designer Series Paper, Edgelits, Framelits, Fun Paper Boxes, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

Valentine’s blog hop, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! Ok confession time…..I love chocolate, I love hearts, I LOVE love, but every year I struggle with making Valentine’s cards. I don’t exactly know why, I love giving cards, but these are the hardest for me to ¬†create. I had a completely different card for this hop, one that ¬†I was not exactly thrilled with, and I thought I cannot just give a ho hum card. So back to the room I went, and viola, I came up with two different cards, and a little treat box.

I hope you like them! The treat box instructions are from a prior blog post, so you can find the instructions there. The cards were both beautiful and quite easy, so I hope you’ll not be like Rach in this instance and give them a try, and maybe make your version even more beautiful.

So, I thought a framed look would work really well with the tree card, pretty enough to leave up for some time. I started with a Basic Black card stock base, then added layers of Real Red, and finally Whisper White.

I stamped the tree in Early Espresso, and did a few ink variations for the “leaves”, and added a Smoky Slate “grass” for the feeling that love makes everything better.

I used the four linked hearts from the Love Notes Framelits to add the sentiment.

Then, I really fell in love with the new Love Notes Framelits dies, so I really wanted to use them again. For that card, I went with a Thick Whisper White base, and thin strip of the Sending Love DSP stack, and the line of hearts cut from Whisper White.

I used a full 6×6 piece of DSP from the Sending Love DSP stack for the treat box, and adhered the flaps with Tombow liquid glue. It takes a bit to dry, but is well worth it on the adhesion.

Tree card:

Basic Black card stock for base 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

Real Red layer 4″ by 5 1/4″

Whisper White later 3 3/4″ by 5″

Love card:

Thick Whisper White card stock for base 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

Whisper White layer 4″ by 5 1/4″, with hearts line on far right to the edge

Sending Love DSP stack layer 5 1/4″ by 3/4″layered under the hearts

Well, tell me your thoughts….Do you love Valentine’s Day? Is it your favorite, and if so why? I’ll tell you I love writing this blog, and it is better when I hear from you!

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

2014-2016 In Colors, 2015-2017 In Colors, 2017 Occasions catalog, Annual Catalog, Birthday cards, DSP Designer Series Paper, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

Simple Happy Birthday card, Stampin’ Up!

Hey stampers! We all need a quick card in our arsenal, and this is a great one to keep on hand. You can switch the designer series paper (DSP) out for most any occasion, and also quickly swap out sentiments as well!

I have been trying a combo of stamping with old (Stampin’ Up! annual catalog) and new( 2017 Occasions catalog) these past few weeks. It seems that we sometimes can forget the tried and true stamps, papers and embellishments when a new catalog comes out. But , some of these are true gems and are certainly underused if only by me ūüôā

So on to the card, it is super easy, and as I said you can change it to your liking in so many ways.

Base Layer: 4 1/4″ by 11″ , score at 5 1/2″

DSP Layer: 4 1/4″ by. 3 1/2″

Whisper White Layer: 4″ by 3 1/4″

Use a coordinating ink color to match the card stock you chose, then stamp a leaf, bubble or other nondescript image on to the card stock. More on the sides since the DSP will block most of the card.

Stamp your sentiment in the lower left of the Whisper White panel, then add some leaves and flowers to the top right to balance it out.

Line up your DSP layer, and Whisper White layer so you know where to stamp the additional sentiment. You can also leave it off if you do not want it ūüôā

Add snail to the DSP and Whisper White layers, and adhere them to the card base.

As always you can add some Stella;) Wink of Stella that is……she always makes everything sparkle in my opinion.

And, there you have it, quick, fun, totally interchangeable to suit your needs.

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

2016 End of Year Sale & Clearance, Blog Hop, Christmas, New 2016 Holiday Catalog!!, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, New Years Eve, Retiring Products 2016, Stampin' Up

New Years Eve Blog hop, Stampin’ Up!

Hey Stampers! It’s hard to believe it is time to get started on New Years Eve planning. This card was so fun to make, and I think it will be SO well received ! It is so fun, and makes you want to POP some bubbly…..even if it’s sparkling cider ūüėČ

This was so fun in fact, that I made three alternate versions! I also thought of this card as soon as the holiday catalog dropped into my hands. My first version was with the Fancy Frost sequins, but I was a little worried, they may sell out before this blog went live, so I thought of two other versions you could create instead. Or really in addition to, since some people don’t like making the same card over and over.

Also, as you all know , I send cards to all of my little friends for EVERY HOLIDAY, and I thought this would be a fun card to send to the parents instead. Especially since you will be getting a lot of holiday bills…..:-p and no one likes that. So more fun snail mail it is!!

The video below will much better explain how I got the partial cut on the champagne glass, plus give you the skinny on the three versions, so you can choose which to make!

I know it looks fancy, but I promise you it was quite simple and you will be so happy you tried it!

Until next time……Stay Crafty!

Blog Hop, Fall & Autumn, Fun Fold cards, New 2016 Holiday Catalog!!, NEW 2016-17 Stampin' Up Catalog, Punches, Stampin' Up, Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving blog hop: Stamp It Group, Stampin’ Up!

Hey stamping and crafting friends! Is it feeling Fall -like in your neck of the woods? We had some really crisp beautiful weather, and then like always, Summer tried to sneak back in this past week! I mean 80+’ in October…..WhAt is going on?!?!?!?! Well, I am going to revel in this incredible card and just pretend until Fall arrives ūüôā

This was such a fun card to make, and the idea for the picket fence came to me in a completely different card that my friend Tami White created. It was inspired from a piano card, and when I saw the keys, I immediately thought “picket fence”! Crazy I know.

The video I created shows you in much more depth how to create the card, so feel free to power-watch it to get a better feel of the instructions!

You will start with a piece of card stock that measures 4 1/4″ by 10″.

You will first score it on the 10″ side at 5 1/2″, then turning it 90′, put the end of your card stock at the 3 1/4″ mark, and score down 1 1/2″, move your card stock down to ¬†7 3/4″, and score up to the 1 1/2″ mark.

Turn your card stock back so it is portrait orientated along the 10″ side, and move the bottom of your card stock to 2 5/8″, and you will now use the cutting blade to cut from one 1 1/2″ score line to the other. Don’t worry if it runs over a tiny bit, it will not affect your card in any way.

You will want to reinforce the score lines with your bone folder.

Next you are going to stamp your trees on a 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White. I arranged it into a scene so I could make the image look seamless once it is trimmed and attached to the card. What you will do once you finish your design is trim the Whisper White piece to ¬†3 1/8″ by about 4″, another piece at 2 1/8″ by 4″ and finally a piece at 2 1/8″ by 2 3/8″. For the sentiment I used the third largest scalloped oval to cut the Garden Green, and the fourth and fifth largest and Val’s for the Crushed Curry and Whisper White respectively.

I created the fence posts by stamping the Hardwood background stamp in Chocolate Chip ink onto Crumb Cake card stock, then punched out the posts using the Classic Label punch.

I lined up the posts, here’s them down and then trimmer from the back. I cut a post in half lengthwise to make the support beams, again attached with Snail

This card has so many seasonal and sentiment possibilities! I hope you love it as much as I do!

Until next time, Stay Crafty!!
