Mother’s Day Blog hop, Stampin’ Up! April

Hi stampers! Welcome to our Stamp It demonstrators group Mother’s Day blog hop!

I would love to say I was prepared, but this is another project, strike that TWO projects I created for this blog hop…….AT THE LAST MINUTE. Insert sad face here ūüė¶ it seems I cannot get my behind in gear these last few weeks, however this is a testament that you can create absolutely anything , and a quite beautiful anything with minimal effort. That is what is so wonderful about all of the Stampin’ Up! products: they coordinate and compliment effortlessly, blend with each other beautifully, and keep your stress levels to a minimum :-D.

I did find the gift bag idea in the 2016-17 Annual catalog and  came up with the card inspiration from Pinterest. BUT the color combo was all on my own. It is such a pretty combo and even though we have the retirement list that came out, and the 2015-17 In Colors that are retiring, at least we still have POOL PARTY right!?!?!? If we could bring back Coastal Cabana, I may never leave my stamp room.

I did videos below for both projects, but I will still give out a quick instruction for each, and as always the measurements for the card!

Just a few notes, the 2016-17 Annual catalog retirement list is going and fast….so make sure you get what you want before the price goes up……..on eBay that is:/

The NEW 2017-18 Annual catalog will be coming to a mailbox near you very soon, and if you don’t have a demonstrator, feel free to drop me an email with your full name, and mailing address and I will send you one free of charge.

The Occasions catalog will be coming to a close as well on May 31, 2017, OR while supplies last. Please get what you have been waiting for now, once it is gone, all I can do is cry with you and pat your back ūüôā

As always be sure to follow all the way through the hop and see all the beautiful cards, these ladies have created, and while you’re there, leave a comment, along with your name and #stampitcontest to bantered to win the super pretty Watercolor Wishes Kit!

Until next time…..Stay Crafty!!

Rach

Card Base: 4 1/4″ by 12″ card stock base ( I used Kraft card stock)

Layers: Whisper White

Butterfly: Pool Party

On the 12″ side, score at 2, 4 ,8 & 10″, then turn and line up the 4 1/4″ side edge ¬†at the 1″ mark, and score from 2″ to 10″ ( in-between the score lines), flip and repeat on the other side.

You will then do a mountain/valley fold ¬†for an”M” shape to the card when it stands up.

You will need five pieces to layer and I did them in  Whisper White

Two measuring ¬†7/8″ by 3 7/8″

One measuring 1 7/8″ by 3 7/8″

Two measuring¬†1 7/8″ by 3 3/4″

Gift Bag: Glassine gift bag

Layer: Whisper White

¬†A Softer Balloon Adventure , Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampin’ friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Have you created anything today? Well, if the answer is no, then this is your next project! This is a tried and true “Z” fold style card, and it has a second layer to add some additional visual interest ūüôā

This card is bright and full of fun in the 2017 Occasions catalog, and sometimes that can make it hard for people who may not bright and loud to see how they could use it. So ,I made this a very soft and feminine card, to give you a different perspective, and help you see some other options. But you can easily switch it out to your taste, and make it a bright card too!

Card base: Tip Tip Taupe¬†measuring 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 2 3/4″and 5 1/2″.

DSP¬†layers for the base measure 4″ by 5 1/4″, and two 2 1/2″ by 4″pieces. Then two Whisper White pieces at 21/4″ by 3 3/4″. I stamped the balloons in Tip Top Taupe, doing one in a lighter shade by stamping off first. I stamped the confetti in Blushing Bride ink, and the sentiment as well.I added a few Pearl embellishments to the front too.

Inside base measures¬†¬†3″ by 8″, score at 4″. Two Whisper White pieces at 3 3/4″ by 2 3/4″, and a DSP layer at 3 1/2″ by 2 1/2″.

You could add a little extra pizzazz to the front inside layer by punching a few balloons form the Balloon Builder punch in Tip Top Taupe and¬†Blushing Bride, and pop them up on dimensional. I do think it’s a perfectly beautiful card, just as it is, do you?

Thanks for stopping in.

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!!!!

Gift card holders from Paper & Glassine bags, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! I know I am a tad bit behind on my blogs, so as a promise to myself and you all, I got caught all up right before my little vacation so you would have some fun things to create and be inspired by while I was away!

These two were super fun to create, and I think they make a fun way to give your gift, and an even better way to receive one.

You can change the DSP used, change the sentiment , change everything or you can make it just as it is.

What will you create? Send me a picture on Facebook and let me see too!!

Instructions:

You will want to score your bag (either one) at 3″, (on both sides) to get a better crease.

Cut a piece of DSP to measure 3 1/4″ by 12″. Then you will lay the DSP down( with the side dow you want to facing out) and fold to meet the sides. Then overlap the back, and add Snail to close the ends together.

If you want to add the Whisper White insert it will measure 4 1/2″ by 2 3/4″.

You can do a little background stamping for interest, and this will be the perfect spot to add your greeting. Also, make sure you tell them to enjoy the gift card, so they know to look for it inside!

You can stamp any sentiment you would like, and punch it out with the 2″ circle punch, add a second 2″ circle punch in Silver foil to add some zip. (How often do you hear that not related to Miracle Whip;))

You could stamp any sentiment, and punch it out with the Sweetheart punch, and then layer onto a 2″ circle punch with Dazzling Diamonds or the Blushing Bride glimmer paper too!

Wrap a little ribbon around it for added flair, or leave it more plain if you want to, it’s all up to you.

Hope you like this cute little treat holder as much as I do ūüôā

Until next time…….

Stay Crafty!

Mountain Adventure, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers!

Hope you are having a wonderful beginning of December. We are prepping all of our Christmas funzies over here. ¬†Lots of card prep, gift buying and wrapping, and of course cookie and cake eating :-D. I wanted to share this increadibly beautiful card with you today. This is a set that I really don’t think caught a lot of peoples eyes in the Holiday catalog, but its really one of my very favorites. Since it isn’t necessarily a Christmas card, I think it may slip past you. But it can be used for all of those WONDERFUL JANUARY BIRTHDAY people……you know, such as MYSELF ūüėȬ†We love to get wintery cards, and this is the perfect example. It is one I think you will love as well, because the watercolor aspect of the card, makes each one unique.
There are also lots of changes you can make with all of the stamps to make them unique to your recipient.

I hope you will give this set a second glance, also since it is on the retirement list and will be gone before you know it.

It’s not too late to sign up for my Holiday Helper email list, you will get 13 project ideas for all of your Christmas gift giving needs. Just shoot me an email at Rachthestamper@gmail.com, and I will get it right out to you.

Until next time, Stay Crafty!

Cute little treat box, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers! Now for something a little out of the box…..I’m a dork, already well aware ūüôā This idea came to me from a recent jewelry party I went to , and when I got my order, it dawned on me. This would be such a sweet little gift box, however the box I had was much larger, and I am sure you could make a bigger one, but I wanted to stick with 12 x 12 card stock. It took me a few tries to get it just how I liked it, and also simple to open and slide back in. Also I wanted it to fit snugly, but not rip on the way in and out. I hope you’ll give this a go. It was quite fun to decorate, and I cannot wait to see someones face when I give it to them…..then say I made it myself!! There really is such satisfaction in knowing you created a unique gift or card or little something for someone, it just makes me smile.

Ok, on to the measurements. Now I will tell you there are two different ways to measure. I will illustrate in the photos below how to do the Stampin’ Trimmer cuts. You can modify to the Simply Scored if you find it easier. I will say I prefer the Trimmer version myself, but that’s because I am not as great at math as I once was. My friends will attest to that!

Stampin’ Trimmer measurements:

You will take a 12 x 12 piece of card stock, and cut it at 6 1/2″, put it aside, then trim a 3″ piece off as well.

full sheet 12/12 cut

The remaining piece you can use to cut flowers from, or save for another project.Starting with the 6 1/2″ by 12″ piece up and down (12″ side sticking out of trimmer top) score with the scoring blade at 2 3/4″, then move that score mark to the 2 3/4″ and score again, continue doing this until you have no card left. You will have 4 marks.

Then turn it to the long side( 12″across trimmer blade section) and score at 2 1/4″, then move that score mark to 13/16″ measurement( about two dashes before the 1″) and score again, then move that score mark to the 2 3/4″ mark and score again, the score once more at about 3/4″. ( This last score is the flap, so however long it is will be fine)

You will now fold and use the bone folder to reinforce your folds. Then trim out the extra pieces.

X means trash
extras removed
trimmed and angle cut to fold a bit nicer

You will only need adhesive on the little tab to hook it to the longer strip. ( Main Box)

Now fold the outer sleeve and reinforce the folds again, you will add a strip of your choice of adhesive and make an open sleeve to side the box into . ( Sleeve)

Country Livin’ , Stampin’ Up!

Hey there stampers…..sorry I have been away so long. I took my son the the beach for a few days on a whim, and my dad recently had an emergency surgery done, so the stamping had to take a back seat. That is really how I came up with this card, I nice relaxing view from the passenger seat or bed of this very cool old truck. I think the cards turned out so much better than I could’ve imagined since I stepped out of the color box for this one. I have seen so many GREAT cards with this set, but mostly in darker ink shades. So I thought I would go out on a limb and see what came of it.

Hey recently I have also added a Rachthestamper Facebook page. I would love if you would stop by and give me a like and a comment. Also I am nearing 1000 subscribers on my You Tube channel Rachthestamper, so I will be getting ready for a new giveaway too. There are so many fun things coming in the next weeks. There is a great new bundle coming out : Thoughtful Branches is the stamp set, and Beautiful Branches is a coordinating framelit set. They will be orderable on August 2nd, but only for a limited time. There are so many different cards you could create with these, and the words and font in the stamp sets are incredible and versatile.
