This month’s theme is Flowers and Moms!
If you’re following along the hop, you’ve arrived from Katja’s blog.
Don’t forget to continue on the hop with Maureen’s blog.
Be sure to continue all the way through.
You’ll have some lovely ideas for cards and projects for Moms of all kinds!
So let’s jump right in.
PROJECT RECIPE
I actually pulled out a project I tried before but didn’t end up finishing.
I started with a Lovely Lipstick piece measuring 3 3/4″ x 8″, I scored it at 1″, 3 3/4″, 4 3/4″, 7″, 8″.
I then made a tray for inside from Soft Sea Foam measuring 4 1/8″x 5 1/8″, I scored it at 3/4″ on all four sides.
It is sort of a slide in tray box, you could add candy or a treat or tea bags too!
I decorated the top with a 2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Soft Sea Foam and a 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Whisper White.
I stamped the small tree trunk branches from the My Meadow stamp set in Garden Green ink. I then added the “flower” bunch in Lovely Lipstick ink from the same stamp set.
I filled in the “grass” and “sky” in Soft Sea Foam and Seaside Spray respectively using the direct ink pad to paper drag method. I was VERY light handed with this technique.
I secured the Braided Linen trim under the decorative layers with Liquid Glue but it also ensures it can be closed, opened and refastened with a simple bow with ease.
CARD RECIPE
#1
Soft Sea Foam Base: 3 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″
Lovely Lipstick Layer: 3″ x 5 1/4″
Petal Pink Layer: 2 3/4″ x 5″
Whisper White Layer: 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
I added the “Dots” with the DOT mask using Lovely Lipstick ink heavier on the corners with a Blender Brush I got on Amazon.
I stamped the Tulips in Lovely Lipstick ink numerous times before re-inking. I did the same with the stems and leaves in Granny Apple Green.
I added the sentiment in Memento black ink.
#2
Soft Sea Foam Base: 3 1/4″ by 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
Lovely Lipstick Layer: 3″ x 4″
Whisper White Layer: 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
I added the “Dots” with the DOT mask starting in the center with Petal Pink ink, I then added Lovely Lipstick ink , again heavier on the corners with the same Blender Brush.
I really gives a great variance of color with only TWO inks.
I added the sentiment in Memento black ink.
Until next time,
Stay Crafty!
