Hi Stampers!
Hope this video finds you in your happy place on a sunshine day! If not, you will certainly be cheered up a bit by these two beauties we created today!!
We ended up doing a 2 for 1 today on the Facebook live….maybe to make up for being a day late….or maybe I just really like making things will you all 🙂
For the first card, we did a Double Z fold using the soon to be retiring Happiest of Days stamp set….you’d better get it now if it’s on your list!
Double Z Fold Card Measurements:
Sweet Sugarplum Base: 4 1/4″ by 11″, score on 11″ side at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
Smoky Slate layer: 3″ by 9″, score on 9″ side at 3″ and 6″
Whisper White panels: TWO 2 3/4″ by 2 3/4″
Share What You Love DSP: 2 3/4″ by 2 3/4″
I stamped the images with Smoky Slate ink and colored in the leaves with the NOT RETIRING (LOL) Pear Pizzazz and the flowers with Sweet Sugarplum and Powder Pink. I also added some dots in trios in Sweet Sugarplum to finish it off.
Peek Through Card Measurements:
Island Indigo Base Layer: 4 1/4″ by 11″, score on 11″ side at 5 1/2″, then trim 1 1/2″ off of the bottom and 2″ off of leftover bottom, so you will end up with a 5 1/2″ panel with a 2″ panel off of the score line. If this does not make sense, see the video to explain it visually. You will also have a 2″ by 4 1/4″ and 2″ by 1 1/2″ piece of Island Indigo. This will make the front of the card once we finish and reassemble it.
Calypso Coral pieces: TWO Â 4″ by 1 7/8″ and ONE 4″ by 1 3/8″ piece
Whisper White pieces: TWO 3 7/8″ by 1 5/8″ and ONE 3 7/8″ by 1 1/4″, ONE 4″ by 5 1/4″
You can adhere the Coral layers to the Indigo pieces right away if you’d like or you can wait and do it all at once.
You will create the background using the Whisper White pieces. I used One of the 2″ panels and just very lightly sponged some Island Indigo and then added the seagulls from High Tide with either Smoky Slate or Memento ink.
I used Soft Sky to add the water rings from Peaceful Reflection which will be available in the new 2018-19 Annual Catalog and also went over with the water from Lily Pad lake in Pool Party. I added in a few sprigs of marsh grass with Garden Green ink . I stamped the Heron/Egret in Smoky Slate and added in additional color with Blender Pens. I colored his beak with So Saffron and Crushed Curry, and finished his legs with the Black Stampin Write marker.
I colored the Lily pads with Lemon Lime Twist and Pear Pizzazz and the flowers with Powder Pink and Flirty Flamingo which is becoming a permanent color…WAHOO!!
On the inside panel I again lightly sponged Island Indigo all over, added the water with Soft Sky. I added the gulls with Smoky Slate and some Garden Green reeds that I added just a bit of Soft Suede to make Cat Tails….how cool is that?!?
I hope you’ve found some inspiration with these two AMAZING in my opinion cards……I mean they look even cooler than what I had in my mind 🙂
Until next time,
Stay Crafty,
XO Rach
