I love Pirates…..especially in the Carribbean!
I shared several ways to create this card with simple or more complex watercolor techniques!
The first versions use a clear block stamped onto an ink pad, then spritzed to make the color more fluid.
The second card features a more true watercolor style with ink refill drops onto a Glass Mat, then diluted a bit with water.
I used Blueberry Bushel to start, then added bits of Night of Navy to darken it up a bit.
I finished it with splatters from Night of Navy after it had dried.
For all of the cards, I added watercolor splashes and then die cut the two different ” waves”.
I either layered them, or added in segments to each card.
The above card is a TRUE watercolor card, as I wet the watercolor paper and then added ink, then added more water to move the color around on the paper.
I stamped the Ship in Versafine but wanted it darker, so I re-stamped and die cut then layered another ship.
The second version was done in a dry Watercolor style, the same as above but without wetting the Watercolor paper first.
I also added in a second technique for the background. Have you ever made “sueded paper” before? I really adds something to a card.
