Welcome to the Stampin Friends Christmas Blog Hop!
This month’s theme is Christmas/Holidays.
If you’re following along the hop, you’ve arrived from Katja’s blog.
Don’t forget to continue on the hop with Pia’s blog.
Be sure to continue all the way through.
You’ll have some lovely ideas for cards and projects for Christmas and Holidays!
So let’s jump right in.
Project RECIPE
I used the Envelope Punch Board, which is a bargain on the Clearance Rack!
I started with a 6″x6″ piece of Toile Tidings DSP
I punched and scored at 3 1/4″, then just scored at 3″
Fold all score lines and reinforce with the Bone Folder
Snip one side with Paper Snips and add a tiny bit of Liquid Glue, hold shut with fingers until set
Fold over three flaps to form an envelope shape, again adding Liquid Glue to hold closed.
Add gift cards, money, mini candy bars etc and then fold flap down.
Tie a piece of your favorite Christmas ribbon with a simple knot to hold closed.
Stamp sentiment in Memento ink, add Pine Boughs in Garden Green and Tree Trunks in Crumb Cake.
I also went around the edge with my Real Red Stampin’ Write marker.
Round the top two corners with the Trio Punch and add a hole as well.
Cut a length of Burlap ribbon and removing the part that holds the thread together, tie a little knot and make a loop if desired
I created a video below to show how you too can create this simple gift card holder.
CARD RECIPE
Base Layer: Crumb Cake 4 1/4″ by 8 1/2″, score at 5 1/2″
Toile Tidings DSP Layer: 1″ by 5 1/4″
I cut three skinny trees from Crumb Cake cardstock
Stamp Tree in Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and cut out with coordinating die
Cut “Snow Slope” from Very Vanilla scrap with die, stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink. Once dry add Wink of Stella to the top of snow bank
Stamp tree trunks onto card base in Crumb Cake ink, sponge the edges of everything with Crumb Cake ink
Attach skinny trees with Liquid Glue, add black dimensional to back of cut out tree. Add DSP to mid left side of card, then add full tree on top
Add Snow banks to base of card with Liquid Glue
Stamp sentiment onto inside of card with Soft Suede ink and add scrap strip of DSP to inside of card with Liquid Glue
Until next time,
Stay Crafty!
