Swing fold cards made simple

Rachael · January 24, 2020 · 1 Comment

Hi Stampers!

This Swing Fold card is a viewer request and I got a great tutorial from Jan B.

She is a UK demo and she had a great video and tutorial.

I had never made one of these cards before and am so happy to help Susan out and try it!

If you have a card idea, project or other idea you’d like to see made, drop me a line at Rachthestamper@gmail.com

The measurements are below along with directions, but also be sure to check out the video for a step by step instruction.

Check out the video HERE.

CARD RECIPE

Base card: 5 3/4″ x  6 3/4″

DSP panels: 2 5/8″ x 5 5/8″ two & 1 1/16″x1 1/8″ two

Inside panels: 3″x 4″ two

Whisper White panels: 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ two

Starting on the 6 3/4″ side:

  1. Line up at 1 1/4″, then using your Stampin’ Up! trimmer, cut from 1 1/4″ -4 1/2″, turn 180* and repeat cutting process
  2. Turn 90*, line up card again at 1 1/4″, cut from 1 1/4″-2 3/4″, then cut again from 4″-5 1/2″, turn 180* and repeat cutting process.
  3. Turn so you are back to 6 3/4″ side being across, and line end up at 2 3/4″ to make it easier,  then score above and below cut lines with Scoring Blade or Bone Folder, turn and repeat

DSP trimming:

  1. With 5 5/8″ side being across trimmer, line up end at 1 1/8″ cut down to 1 1/2″, line opposite end up at 1 1/8″, cut down to 1 1/2″
  2. Turn piece so newly cut flaps face to left, line up at 1 1/2″, cut from 1 1/8″ -4 1/2″. Piece should slip right out.
  3. Repeat above steps for second DSP piece

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!

XO Rach
