Hi Stampers!
To create the card above, I started by making a mask.
I cut the fatter rectangle three times by lining it up with my T Square ruler( I got it from Amazon, link will be below). I placed the first one, the did a very light pencil outline, moved it over and repeated until I had all three. I then used Post It tape to hold it in place while I cut in my Big Shot.
Then I again, VERY LIGHTLY traced the rectangle corners so I knew where I was stamping, and stamped the Star and Wheel in Versamark and let it dry.
After that, what I should have done (so you should NOW) is to erase the lines, then line the rectangles up about where they fit and use the Post It tape again( it is reusable many times) to hold it in place while you gently sponge Coastal Cabana ink over the rectangle spots. Be gentle because the lines in-between are pretty small.
Remove the mask and then stamp in full or stamped off in the Star and Wheel in Pretty Peacock ink, allow to dry.
I then re-added the mask one final time, no tape needed and spritzed the Champagne Shimmer Paint, which I have prediluted with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer. Allow to dry.
In the meantime, I cut HAPPY three times from the Well Written dies in Pretty Peacock and I layered them onto each other with the Fine Tip Glue pen, it makes a really nice touch to this one dimensional card. I also, cause I can’t resist, spritzed these with Shimmer Paint.
I stamped Father’s Day in the lower right with Pretty Peacock ink, then added the HAPPY triple layer with Tombow Liquid glue.
I stamped the wheat ( I am still unsure if it’s wheat, pussywillow or cotton) in Coastal Cabana ink onto the base for some added interest.
I added all the layers together with Tombow Liquid Glue and worked to finish the inside.
On the inside, I stamped the weathervane in Pretty Peacock ink that I stamped off once. I did the same with the “unidentified” Grass but in Coastal Cabana. Finally I added the inside sentiment in Memento ink.
I chose this sentiment because my Dad actually left this week to go visit my brother in California, so I won’t see him for his Birthday which is the 31st, or Father’s Day in June.
So I will mail him this and he probably will not open it, or will forget it when he comes home……just another day in the life of Joel.*sigh*
