Hi Stampers!

I created this fun “Ball Drop” New Years Eve card as a tribute toDick Clark and his Rockin New Years Eve! We watch it every year and I thought it would be fun to make a slider card that lands on a Happy New Year sentiment.

I cut the Window Sheet, Champagne Foil and add Metallic Sequins inside in between Foam Strips. I then added two dimensional in between two pennies to make the slider portion and attached it to the back of the “BALL”.

Now you could also just make this as a shaker card without the falling element as well by just popping a shaker element into the card front too!

I used some of the fun Metallic Sequins to jazz mine up and I added in some of the Silicon pack balls that come in every shoebox and purse known to man to add another fun pop.

I also covered the front of my ball with a Scallop of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper  but you could also use Silver Glimmer paper too.

I used the versatile Classic Label punch  to make the slider part to get the ball to go up and down. I just cut my paper and lined the punch up about center and popped out a hole, I moved down about a 1/4″ and punched again to make it a bit longer.

I layered lots of glitz with the Glimmer paper and Champagne Foil paper and finally embossed the sentiment with Gold Embossing Powder.

I feel like I really punched up the glamour factor on this Once a Year card!

I love the Warm Hearted stamp set that I used for the NYE sentiment and as a matter of fact: I bought it for that and the Merry Christmas sentiment….just too cute!

CARD RECIPE

Base Layer: Basic Black 4 1/4″ by 11″, score at 5 1/2″

Champagne Foil layer: 4″ by 5 1/4″

Glimmer Paper layer: 3 3/4″ by 5″

Whisper White scrap for the sentiment

Window Sheet, Silver Foil and Glimmer paper for the Shaker ball
