Hi Stampers!
These were such fun cards to create! I used an Aquapainter filled with rubbing alcohol to create the backgrounds. They were inspired by Gail from StampWith Gail SU and you can find her on Facebook. She did some amazing Southwest style cards the other day, and I had to make one as well. I used the Beach Happy stamp set to start and then the Waterfront stamp set and the gorgeous Flowering Dessert stamp set.
You can do this by laying down the backgrounds before you stamp images or you can stamp first and then add in the background colors. I filled my Aquapainter with rubbing alcohol and opened up a Stampin’ Up ink pad and used the ink on the lid and add in a few drops of alcohol from the Aquapainter and swirl it around, pick up the color and apply it in a random fashion on the Whisper White card stock. You will get a lot of white spots and need to re-add ink often for deeper color but it turns out beautifully each time. I like the white space in the mix of color as I think it gives a really realistic look.
If you watch the video I did three different versions and you can see lots of tips and tricks as well.
What stamp set will you use to bring a card to life, and joy to someone you care about?
