Well, this Facebook LIVE kinda got off to a rough start, but I impressed even myself with the end result! This is  such a totally cool idea, to use two different embossing powders, and just using one powder but embossing it more than once gives an amazing result!

I hope you’ll watch this video and try it for yourself 🙂

Mini DSP Christmas Trees, Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!

Yet another quick and fun way to use up scraps! I trimmed out some triangle trees in varied sizes to make this fun design. I just used any old DSP that was in pieces on my craft table:)

I backed it with a thin strip of DSP and added a Whisper White panel to give a focal point.

Marker to Stamp Technique with Embossing Paste , Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!

This card, either version will be simple to create in a hurry if you’re running short on Christmas cards!

I added Embossing Paste to the Pine Tree and dried it with a heat tool to make it a bit puffy.

I tinted the Embossing Paste with Powder Pink refill ink ( just a drop!!) to create some Bermuda Sand for the Beachy Tree!

Also I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the tree with the snow to give a shimmer effect 🙂

I really cannot believe we have less than a week to go!

Stay tuned for more ideas through to Christmas Eve and be sure to tune in tomorrow to Facebook to see what we make live!

I’ll see you at 930am EST on the Rachthestamper Facebook page!

A Fast and Fun Christmas Gift , Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!

Guess what……I just finished my blog post for today! I promised to have a new one every day through Christmas Eve and I forgot. So I thought, it is close to Christmas, people may be in crunch time mode…..make a quick and easy one!

So this is what I came up with and you may have many of the easy things needed to make these, and guess what else? If you don’t ,swap it our for a stamp set you have, or you could even go the route of giving thank you cards! People NEED those too!

If you have the Pizza Boxes to add the cards below to, you could add some DSP and a simple stamped image, tie some ribbon as well if you’d like.

If you don’t , just tie it up with a pretty , festive ribbon, or layer two together as I did with these!

You could copy any of the cards shown and make the same stamp only ones, or DSP and a stamp, whatever works for your needs!

So without further delay…..

The note cards are 3″ by 6″, score at 3″, you can use Whisper White or Very Vanilla to make it easy. You can use colored card stock but you may need to add a white insert so keep it simple.

Then Stamp, use ink that is not a traditional Christmas color, know why? It is your card! And besides Christmas lights on a string are all different colors right?

I went with similar color schemes, for example:

Rich Razzleberry and Perfect Plum

Dapper Denim and Marina Mist

I think they are fun and take the stress out.

Another way is the Stampin’ Blends if you WANT to color…..if you don’t just Stamp It! 🙂

One more way is a bold sentiment with a 2 3/4″ square piece of DSP behind it! Ya know you have tons of cool DSP leftover 😉

So easy and fun and really with endless possibilities too

Hope you have fun creating your version!

Stay tuned for a new idea each day up through Christmas Eve:)…..Even if I “Last Minute Lucy” it 😀

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

2017 Clearance Retirement List, 2017 Holiday Catalog, 2017 Retirement List, Annual Catalog, Birthday cards, Brights Collection, Facebook LIVE, Heat Embossing, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

Northern Lights Lovely as a Tree, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers!

Don’t you just love this beauty? It was so super fun to create and I guarantee it will be a one of a kind masterpiece your friends will be so happy to receive!

This technique and color scheme was given to me by a Facebook Live viewer Breina, so we have her to thank for this  bit of awesomeness.

There are only three colors, four if you count black, but the colors Blends to make so many others it looks like a lot of white to but is really quite simple.

You’ll want to heat emboss the Trees from Lovely as a Tree in White Emboss powder onto a 4″ by 5 1/4″ layer of Whisper White. Then starting lightest to darkest you’ll add in colors with your sponge daubers.

I used Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise and Berry Burst and then added in Archival Black ink.

You can create a mask with paper or post it notes if you want more defined edges and you can also add Black inbetween colors if you have any to keep them more concentrated in hue.

I love the way the card turned out even though I have seen a ton of these in example and I really was a bit leery when I was making it.

When you take a step back and let it dry and attach it to a base, I think you will swoon too!!

Until next time,

2017 Clearance Retirement List, 2017 Holiday Catalog, 2017 Occasions catalog, Annual Catalog, Christmas, DSP Designer Series Paper, Heat Embossing, One Sheet Wonder, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

Merriest Christmas Wishes , Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!

This card is made oh so simple by adding some of your favorite Designer Series Paper to a card base, then making it shine with Silver Emboss powder.

I added some Real Red sponged on the edges to bring it together with the Real Red card base. The Old Olive 1/8″ Ribbon added a touch of Christmas Green and finally a pop of sparkle with the Clear Faceted Gems.

I finished the inside with a beautiful sentiment and added the Tree by coloring each part with the Stampin’ Write markers to make it look like a mini ornament.

Hope you have fun creating your version!

Stay tuned for a new idea each day up through Christmas Eve:)

Until next time,

2017 Clearance Retirement List, 2017 Holiday Catalog, Heat Embossing, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up, Watercoloring

Watercolor Emboss Resist with Lovely as a Tree, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers!

In case you missed it, today December 11th 2018 is FREE SHIPPING all day! From midnight to 11:59pm MT everything ships free! You can get everything to create this beautiful card and it can ship for free:)

I created this card with Watercolor Paper, which I embossed the line of trees from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I used Clear embossing powder but I think White embossing powder would make it all pop so much more!

I used reinkers in this order

Soft Sky

Island Indigo

Perfect Plum

Night of Navy

You apply a drop or two of reinker to a window sheet, it doesn’t have to be very large, and add a few drops of water to spread the color around a bit then you’ll flip the window sheet down and smoosh it onto the trees, repeat with all the colors until it looks like you want it to. If you want a softer look, wet the Watercolor paper down with some water before the above steps.

Also a tip, you may not like your product, it is a bit intense until it dries some, but let it dry or hot it with your heat till to dry it out and I know you’ll love it too!

I finished by Heat embossing the sentiment with Silver Emboss powder onto a scrap of Thick Whisper White card stock and popped it up on a dimensional.

I added the trees to another 4″ by 5 1/4″ Whisper White panel with Always Artichoke ink and then added the sentiment with Perfect Plum ink. I also filled in some shading under the trees with Night of Navy ink and added some depth to the trees by adding Pear Pizzazz ink to the center of the trees and finished with a few touches of White Gel Pen.

Hope you’ll give this card a try! Stay tuned for a new card every day until Christmas Eve!

Until next time,

Stay Crafty

2017 Clearance Retirement List, 2017 Holiday Catalog, Annual Catalog, Christmas, DSP Designer Series Paper, Heat Embossing, One Sheet Wonder, Something Old & Something New, Stampin' Up

A Season of Scraps with Watercolor Christmas, Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!

This is a fun, quick and easy card, and also a GREAT way to use up scraps!

The main layer of the card is 3 3/4″ so all the strips are about a 1/2″ by 3 3/4″. I just used whichever pieces I have laying around and I added in the Champagne Foil I had leftover trimmed up from the Wise Men card I made several days ago! I Also popped it up on dimensionals to give it some extra pop!

So easy and fun and really with endless possibilities too!

Quick tip, I used a Swiffer cloth to wipe off the excess Embossing Buddy powder after the White Embossing Powder dried.

Hope you have fun creating your version!

Stay tuned for a new idea each day up through Christmas Eve:)

Wise Men From Afar, Stampin’ Up!

Hi stampers!

This set is one I wanted from first sight of the Holiday Catalog, but I held off. I will admit, I have made a ton of cards with it since receiving it Wednesday!

I have another version I’ll share tomorrow, but this one was done as a mixed metals look with Silver, Copper and Gold embossing powder and then I added some Champagne Foil to round it out!

What do you think? Are you inspired?!?

Let me know what you’ll create and I’ll share my tone on tone version tomorrow:)

Until next time,
